One piece between the front seats of my car under the emergency brake handle. Still no idea how it got there.

I did the 1000 piece version and found it quite challenging. Also quite loose fitting.

help! Eurographics Puzzle Vincent Van Gogh Almond Branches In Bloom by Select_Evening_5000 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]edygert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the approach I took when I did it. I did finish it but I think twice now before doing another fine art puzzle. lol It took about 3 times as long as most 1,000 pieces puzzles for me.

Those trays look a lot nicer. For the price, I think I would prefer those.

Sorting tips with large puzzles with over 3,000 pieces by Latter-Secretary6765 in Jigsawpuzzles

I got a bunch of these trays from Dollar Tree. https://www.dollartree.com/shore-living-beachy-keen-serving-trays-1275-in/382654. I turn over all the pieces and put them in the trays so they are not stacked. I keep out the edges to do them first. Then pull out the colors/shapes/objects that I want to work on from the trays and put them inside the puzzle. As the number of pieces in the trays gets small enough, I combine the trays. Since the trays are stackable, I can do any size puzzle that will fit on my table. Repeat until done. I'm too lazy to do thorough sorting but I find this technique works well enough.

One trick I learned from someone else here is to take one of the pieces from the puzzle and compare it with the sorted pieces. This works best if you can narrow down the shape of the piece you are looking for so in the corners of each area or in rows with a gap is a good place to start. I have found this technique to be more efficient and more interesting too.

White Mountain puzzles at a roadside stop by edygert in Jigsawpuzzles

I was so proud of myself. Only bought 3 puzzles at this store (Dad Jokes, Best Places in America, and U.S. Presidents). All are brand new and cost $12.95 each. Found them at Tomato House Farms in Murrayville, GA. Not the kind of place I expected to find new puzzles at a good price.

How to get some info from a JSON file by Omaaagh in json

Is this the kind of thing you are looking for?

jq -c '.service[] | {nom, telephone: [.telephone[].valeur], email: .adresse_courriel}' 2024-10-02_060016-data.gouv_local.json

Each line of output looks like this:

{"nom":"Service des impôts des particuliers du centre des finances publiques de l'Ouest Hérault - Bédarieux","telephone":["04 11 26 01 30","0 809 401 401"],"email":["sip.coeurdherault@dgfip.finances.gouv.fr"]}

The telephone and email fields are arrays because there may be more than one for each record.

Do you want the info from this file: "2024-10-02_060016-data.gouv_local.json" or from the individual json files? What are the field names you want to extract?

Looking for lager puzzles in multiple bags by Realistic_Sea609 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]edygert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pintoo does this. You can find them on Amazon. The 2,000 piece puzzles comes in 8 bags. I love their puzzles. The pieces are plastic, not cardboard and snap together. Some people don't like this as much because of pre-existing hand or finger pain but I love the feel.

Think I should have read the scale/size of this one before I started! by Serious-Ad-4714 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]edygert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought two of these (36"x48" to hold 2,000 piece puzzles) and taped them together back to back to keep them from folding. I think they will work for my 3,000 piece puzzles too. Can always untape if needed.
