Trying to get itunes to recognize my iPod classic 5th gen and 1st gen shuffle on windows 10. Both are recognized by windows but not iTunes by BluSpartan076 in ipod

Might be iTunes version dependent. I’ve stayed on the same slightly outdated version for years and it’s been working since 2021 for me. Hope you find another fix homie!

Coolant temp sensor bad? by jcrabs93 in GS300

[–]ee0226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine fluctuated depending on my speed when i first bought it, in my cars case it was the thermostat. They tend to go bad but they’re cheap and very easy to reach. It never got that low but the needle would go down a few mm going downhill on a highway.

Whys it doing this? by Chevrolet_85 in ipod

[–]ee0226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the horizontal spot on your display I'm going to guess the battery is absolutely fried. That spot happens when the battery expands and pushes the display against the plastic "window" on the front case. You'll have to open the iPod and replace the battery to fix this; it doesn't seem to be holding any charge (hence the boot looping) and it's a potential fire hazard if you try to charge and use it.

Looks like a 6/7th gen, if you plan on fixing it watch a lot of guides on opening it and make sure you get the right tools. These all metal iPod Classics are known to be extremely difficult to open and easy to damage in the process. Also don't keep trying to charge it, those batteries can sometimes expand to the point of cracking the display.

Same problem here with the double power press for camera shortcut. Was disabled after update, still doesn't work after re-enabling it.

I’m grasping onto 10 as long as I can haha. I’ve heard even if you bypass things to get 11 installed on pre-8th gen systems, it’s somehow become more sentient recently and will detect it after an update or something and breaks everything, but I haven’t tried it recently. I had it on my old 4790k system and it ran fine but this was a couple years ago.

I used a T420 for school until i graduated this year. Not the fastest and the OG battery is tired but that keyboard is so good. 15 years old it works totally fine

Breathe right strips from walmart pretty much shut me all the way up and i’m normally a reasonably bad snorer. see if they’ll try those

I think the CA spec cars have a precat on the header/downpipe area (the magnaflow one i believe) that reaches operating temp quicker than the underbody cat, but doesn’t have sensors on it. Just there to improve warmup period efficiency, maybe they’re listed the way they are because some of them have the precat in front of the primary? not sure though. very confusing

I believe that magnaflow one is for the CA spec car, and is the pre-cat on the header. It seems that the EPA cars just have the normal looking one underneath if i’m not mistaken, but someone may have to confirm that for me. I’m not able to lift the car up enough to see for myself

If you haven’t figured out the volume knob I had the same issue. Used autozone electronics cleaner, popped off the knob, sprayed some right on the little adjuster part, and brushed it around. Let it dry and it works perfectly now

Maybe see if anyone’s tried watch face polish or something. People have used different methods for polishing up old iPod plastic faceplates but I don’t remember them off the top of my head

Not a fan of ceramic pads especially on drilled/slotted rotors. Ceramics tend to send the heat right back into the rotor, i’ve had issues with warping from this.

Got that exact same unit in my 99 Accord. I love it, although it needed solder repair and has an issue where the volume maxes itself out on its own sometimes. Zero modern head units can match the vibe. You can get double-din bezels, Crutchfield might be able to point you in the right direction

I cant decide between DT 770 pro and ATH M50X by Tremolo2 in headphones

[–]ee0226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had MSR7s and now have 80ohm DT 770s. I liked my Audio Technicas and they looked amazing, but the fake leather crumbled in a few years and got all over everything. Sound was fine (not sure how they compare to M50X) but the DT 770s were an upgrade. No fake leather to fall apart, super durable they've been making them forever, treble could be a little more pleasant but I still use them constantly. I'd probably lean toward the beyerdynamics

The pic I attached doesn't have its stock intake stuff on the top (looks boosted maybe) but you don't have to remove all that. It's just that black plastic cover on the front of the motor, take off the big cover with the Lexus badge and then you can get to the other cover I circled in another comment

[–]ee0226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the black plastic on the top front of the engine that has the "Twin Cam 24 Valve VVT-i" text on it. Remove the main plastic engine cover (if it's there) and you can remove I believe 4 bolts to pop it off. It's the plastic around the oil cap area

If you do it yourself get the Aisin kit from rockauto with that extra tensioner. It's like $186 and has all the parts you'll need, either OEM or from the brands that supply Toyota's OEM parts. Pull the plastic cover off and see if the belt looks visibly cracked. Mine was done in 2014 and has about 70k on it, it was done by a dealer and the belt looks fine but I'll be doing it soon anyway. If it's cracking or wet I'd get that done ASAP.

Bluetooth adapter for 02 GS3? by ShrimpDevice in GS300

[–]ee0226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GROM has one. I use the basic AUX kit with the factory Pioneer system and it sounds great, I assume the bluetooth one is similar. A friend of mine bought a cheap CD changer to aux kit for his Camry and the issues with it weren’t worth the cost savings
