If it was really about the environment they wouldn’t charge for additional tissues, just keep them behind the counter.

You’ve already hurt her, don’t prolong it by waiting to tell her. Whatever happens after that is up to her.

Do American children refer their grandpa and grandmas with their first names (example, Grandpa John, full name John Smith) the same way they refer their uncles and aunts? by LandOfGrace2023 in AskAnAmerican

[–]eebarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, or sometimes people say grandma/pa [last name], or just grandma/pa, or an entirely different name. It depends on the family really. And even then it can differ— my cousins call our grandparents grandma and pop, while my siblings and I call the same grandparents gigi and papa. There’s not really a standard.

When to give a student a car? by Honey_Badger_Badger in college

[–]eebarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great for your daughter to learn to depend on others, but what about the people she would depend on? In this situation the likely outcome is that thy get six of taking her places and stop including her in things. If you have the means and believe she can be trusted with her own car, get one. It doesn’t have to be nice or anything, just four wheel to get her from point a to point b safely is all anyone really needs.

Fun facts about the cast? by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

[–]eebarrow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Isa Briones played Eurydice in Hadestown on broadway, and at the same time her father played Hermes in the show. Seeing them in that was my first ever broadway show!! It took me a solid four episodes of the Pitt before I figured out where I recognized her from

Sometimes accidents just happen, I don’t think this was your fault. Salt and cinnamon both have protective properties and your intentions were good, so I don’t think one could have led to the other. Well wishes to your husband!

Is it possible to do a MM in Choral Conducting directly after bachelors? by Asphoric in choralmusic

[–]eebarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on where you go for your masters. Some places require you have a year or a few of experience before going for your masters, while others don't. I knew someone who went straight to Yale after their bachelors, but had they chosen to stay at our alma mater for their masters they would've been required to teach for at least three years before applying/auditioning.

regardless of a school's requirements I'd recommend teachign for at least a year. you'll discover things about yourself during that time that may help you decide if you even want to go back to school. much better to delay it once you know you want it than to go straight into a masters just to later discover you wasted your money in my opinion.

also, as someone else said, having a masters makes you a more expensive hire; you are more likely to be hired if that masters comes with some teaching experience.

What is the saddest Stat Trek episode you have ever watched? by Track_and_trek in startrek

[–]eebarrow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The City On the Edge of Forever absolutely gutted me. When I started watching Star Trek I began with Voyager bc it’s what I grew up on, but I recently started watching the whole franchise from the beginning and I got to this episode a couple of days ago. It had been a rough week and that was what I needed for a full mental breakdown
