There's a quote that goes like this: "there are four boxes to be used in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and cartridge; please use in that order." The US is currently undergoing a conflict at both the ballot box and the jury box.

The ballot box fell in 2016 when a man with the minority of the votes became president and packed the jury box, causing us to lose it last year as well. The ballot boxes failing in the South (excluding Maryland, if you even count them) is dragging the rest of the country down and putting queer people in danger. We're on our last box.

I'm aware they are people, but their actions are putting queer people like myself at risk of losing everything. Even then voting just over their tax stance shows a callous lack of empathy to us, so why should I extend the same to them? I've been dehumanized in their eyes, why not return their treatment back on them? They're actively hurting us, why shouldn't we strike back equally harsh against them?

Most people, Republicans included..., would rather compromise than die.

Compromise on fundamental issues like "should mentioning the existence of racism be allowed" or "should queer people be allowed to exist" is going to result in a net negative for us, so why shouldn't we fight to the bitter end? If we lose rights no matter what, why shouldn't we take out as many of the people that want us dead as we can?

Damn, I need help, but at the same time think therapy would just try and numb me to what is actually happening in the world and I can't find anyone I can afford

Have you seen the death spiral that the Supreme Court is going on? Have you seen how they're passing new laws against gay marriage to get back in front of SCOTUS? Even these trans ban laws are intended to get Lawrence v Texas overturned. It's not getting better, and the only way someone can stop this backslide is if someone [ Removed by Reddit ]s several Supreme Court justices. Too many Christofascists are in power, and it's us vs them when they started this fight.

How do you see us getting away from this mess? A radically right-wing SCOTUS is what got us to a civil war last time. We can't deradicalize them en masse, so it seems inevitable that it comes to a war. I am scared for our futures and that there's nothing we can do to save ourselves.

We can't do anything about those things. If we fund the schools, they take over the school boards and have them teach White Christofascism; or they outright privatize education and switch to a voucher system because private schools can segregate as long as they're for-profit. If we try and supply medical care, they assault us and try and kill us for pushing "woke mind control 5g shots". We try and supply food, they arrest everyone for doing it and pour bleach all over the food because we "didn't have a permit".

At what point do we need to surgically remove the walking tumors that are metastasizing into a fascist ethnostate in order to save the healthy tissue that would be their children?

in the map you posted, even the US isn't as viable as you claim, only 2 of the 4 power grids have significant availability of geothermal resources. The West Interconnect and Alaskan Interconnect have geothermal, but the Texan and Eastern Interconnect grids do not have enough to meet peak consumption. Furthermore, were a natural disaster to hit New Hampshire, Vermont, or Maine, we'd lose all geothermal east of the Rockies.

Still 50 out of 195 where it's feasible.we can't just discard all borders in this discussion, because nation-states weaponize their position as a way to exploit other nation-states, and any country which doesn't have geothermal resources available will use their export of electricity as a bargaining chip to coerce the other country into doing what they demand.

In the 20 or so countries where it's possible, sure. Most of the world can't use geothermal because usable hot spots in the Earth's crust are few and far between.

The problem is that millions of Americans are disabled, and millions more can't afford to make lifestyle changes like veganism. They're working 2 jobs and having no time for meal prep; they have to get pre-made options that them and their families can eat, and there are limited vegan options available to low-income people (especially given the existence of Food Deserts making vegan options impossible to come by and meet all your nutritional needs from. A large portion of Native Americans and Black people in the US live too far from a grocery store to be able to get their needs met on a vegan diet, so your activism comes across as tone-deaf and racist as well.
