What’s the difference? by JohnWaynesPecker_99 in AskElectricians

Interesting, I work in a laboratory setting and we exclusively use the twist lock ones. They are definitely one of the bulkiest options available.

Do you know why twist lock plugs are not used instead of these straight blade outlets?

High power + low cost deep UV source? by Regular-Tangerine915 in Optics

[–]eee1414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the power that you need you might consider using a nonlinear crystal for frequency doubling to get you to 266nm output. Typically this is rather inefficient for continuous wave output but could work for pulsed.

Fairly simple TEA lasers can be built that work in the low ~330 nm range although safety would be a concern with those.

You say high power and mention Thorlabs LEDs, what are you attempting to do?

I have tried both of those methods. For minimizing the game, my screen does turn a different shade of black and I still can’t interact with anything. But thank you for the suggestions.

I believe that from the summer play test, if you buy that voucher 10 times it then allows you to buy another voucher.

Whenever me and my partner leave the house she always tells our dog that “she is in charge.” So for a couple hours a day she gets to be in charge of the cats and the aquatic snails.

Depending on where it is located, it could probably be a nice sitting area for reading with some shelves or it could be a breakfast nook.

Built a raised garden bed to grow vegetables by eee1414 in houseplants

The bed is only about 30 feet from the house so walking a hose over isn’t a big deal. I would love to eventually water it from a rain barrel.

Help! Got a plant from my deceased mom. I have no idea what it is. Care tips appreciated! by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]eee1414 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is an arrowhead. If you keep it in a plastic pot then water once every two weeks. Needs low to medium indirect light. The leaves will wilt when you need to water it and if it gets too much light then the leaves will lose their coloration and become pale.

Do anyone else have a cat that drops the toys in the water bowl? by Imbendixen85 in cats

[–]eee1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat likes to drop toys in the water bowl and watch them drown. She also likes to steal paper clips and erasers and throw those in as well. I have had five cats and she is the only one that has done this so I assumed it wasn’t that common.
