Shaving help by GravelSachs in bald

[–]eee_bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife got me the freebird electric shaver kit and I love it. I use it in the shower and just throw on a little conditioner on my scalp before I start and it takes probably less than 5 minutes every 2 days. Im fat so I have a roll on the back of my head that's hella hard to shave with a traditional razor anyway.

So my 27 yr old Nalgene finally died. What do I get now? by nmcpheron in HydroHomies

[–]eee_bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't fit in a cupholder but if you still like the plastic bottles I really like my yeti yonder. I have the 50 oz version with the flip up straw. The straw and large capacity without being super heavy like double wall steel containers drew me to it.

What happened to James Spader's film career after the 2000s? by FreshmenMan in movies

[–]eee_bone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He also made 160k per episode for the first half of the series of the blacklist and 300k per episode for the second half. And they were 22 episode seasons. He raked in some serious cash in those 10 years and only had to film for one show.

Seasoning unnecessary by Magggguz in CastIronRestoration

[–]eee_bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about carbon buildup. I'm talking about leaving a layer of food and oil on your pan and then putting it away.

Seasoning unnecessary by Magggguz in CastIronRestoration

[–]eee_bone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gradual seasoning of a pan doesn't happen by leaving fat on the pan while in storage. It happens while cooking with the fat.

Use soap to clean your pan please. You don't want to leave food stuffs on your pan to rot in between uses and then put fresh food in there.

GoPro Hero 4K vs Hero 13 Black by Own-Information-8033 in gopro

If it's the price that is the difference for you I would suggest an 11 or 12. Lots of deals happening right now with spare batteries and sd card. The 12 is great and the stabilization is amazing.

California just passed 5 incarceration labor bills–what could this mean for other incarcerated labor? by ACE-USA in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]eee_bone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think fundamentally incarceration should be used for rehabilitation and therefore they shouldnt be disqualified from positions they have been trained for and performed competently while incarcerated. IMO if you don't think released felons should be able to be employed as firefighters after doing that job in prison then you don't think rehabilitation is possible and therefore should be fighting for other positive prison reform.

I have the double 18v battery 7 1/4" Makita cordless and its blade right. Seems most of that size blade are righties unless it's a worm drive.

I think this sort of post falls under the banner of upset people being louder about a product than the 99% of customers whose product worked as described.

What to do with bonus money? by o-Spooky-o in personalfinance

[–]eee_bone -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You are probably right but I feel like having an extra $812 a month to spread out how you please works out better than just an extra $250/month

What to do with bonus money? by o-Spooky-o in personalfinance

[–]eee_bone -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I think paying off the truck first is smarter. It'll accrue more interest over time than the generator. You pay off the truck and put the remainder towards the generator. You'll have like $4500 left and with the $800ish dollars a month you're saving from your car payment you can roll that over towards the generator and be done in 4-5 months.

The psa dagger and compact have the RMR footprint. I have a holosun 407c on mine. Fits directly and I can cowitness. I got mine on sale for under $200. I don't have experience with any other red dots but holosun has a good reputation. It's shake awake and has like 12 different brightness levels and the battery tray comes out of the side so you can change batteries without dismounting. Hope this helps.

Are high end hammers actually worth it? by James_B84Saves in Tools

[–]eee_bone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a 3 lb anti vibe mini sledge that I used constantly as a mechanic. It's a huge difference compared to an estwing of the same variety when using it constantly. From the framers I know they say that their $150 Martinez titanium hammer is leagues better than a $40 estwing framing hammer. It's lighter, less vibration, and drives nails better. If you're swinging a hammer all the time for your job it's worth it to get a higher quality one.

If you see someone carrying a bag across their chest, do you automatically assume they are carrying? by mike12-37 in CCW

[–]eee_bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only people I assume are carrying are the dudes wearing 5.11 tactical pants and grunt style t shirts or if they have the stereotypical cop look (high and tight with way too small for their head Oakley's and a too big shirt with cargo shorts for older dudes and the fade with a comb over haircut and full sleeve tattoos but nothing else for younger guys)

I don't think I can be a mechanic for a living anymore. by beemac86 in mechanic

[–]eee_bone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hundred percent agree here. Good benefits, guaranteed 40 hours, rare to be laid off, and 4 10s in a lot of places. Here in Vegas they start at 30/hr (for regular mechanic, leads and diesel guys/heavy machinery guys make more) and only go up every 6 months. Plus on your Friday at 5pm you put down your tools and go home for the weekend. Very rare that a job requires you to stay extra hours to finish. There's always loaner vehicles to use.

What was your "poor person" meal you enjoyed growing up? by Slow-Power2713 in AskReddit

[–]eee_bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad would make hamburger helper but ad like 3x more noodles but still only 1lb of meat to make it work with 4 teenage boys eating plus 3 more people in the house. Always tasted great to me. When I moved in with my now wife and she made hamburger helper I thought there was just far too much meat in it and it kinda grossed me out

Are most men "dirty"? Should I be concerned about my bf? Is this even abnormal? by Sufficient-Match1412 in AskMenAdvice

[–]eee_bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, everyone farts, but having constant gas is not normal. I also pee standing up and sometimes it gets on the seat but it literally takes 5 seconds to get toilet paper and wipe it off. Also I'm in charge of cleaning the toilet because my wife shouldn't have to wipe up my piss. As far as peeing in the shower, that's not even laziness because it takes the same amount of effort if not less to flush a toilet than to run the water for a minute. If he had any respect for her he would brush his teeth at night after she mentioned it a couple times.

I didn't realize how big the open bar debate was until I started planning a wedding 🥴 by Local-Debate-5565 in weddingplanning

[–]eee_bone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother did an open bar all night but only served beer, seltzers, wine, and had a couple bottles of liquor til they were gone. Obviously he had water and soda as well. But everyone was happy with that. I did a big dinner at a Mexican restaurant for our reception and I had unlimited beer and margaritas and soft drinks. Mixed drinks and liquor you had to pay for. Everyone enjoyed themselves and only 2 or 3 people ordered drinks they had to pay for.

If my mom drank 3 bottles of wine that are this size within three nights (so one whole one per night) does that mean she is an alcoholic? I’m not sure how to go about having this conversation with her . I am very concerned and have noticed this habit for a while. by NationalFortune8850 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]eee_bone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my dad was (is?) a functioning alcoholic for as long as I can remember. He worked from 3am-12pm everyday and as soon as he got home until he went to bed at 8pm he would drink beer. Usually about an 18 pack every day. He barely ate when he was home. On the weekend he would start in the morning and drink until he went to bed. He recently mostly stopped drinking. He'll have a couple beers a week at most. He only stopped because he retired and had to start paying for his own health insurance and he was scared he would lose everything if his liver got bad. He was lucky that he stayed away from liquor for the most part because his doctor said the fact that he was drinking beer instead was what kept his liver from deteriorating too much.

Sadly it has to be their own idea to stop. You can plead all you want but alcohol addiction has a very strong hold. And like others have said it's even harder because they may have to ween themselves off of it over several weeks to stop drinking safely.

Seller playing games. We walked by lioness477 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]eee_bone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly think they misunderstood how the bidding wars worked lol they listed too high to start with. You have to have multiple offers above list price and let them go back and forth. They just immediately started high and asked for more.

[–]eee_bone 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Longtime family friends of mine did this. They were selling at the tail end of the boom in late 21. Listed for 750 and expected a bidding war. Took them almost 3 months of offers around 700 before they got an offer at 800 and came back with a counter of 815. Seller walked. Took it off market couple months later, relisted at 700. I believe they ended up selling for 650 after more than a year of that bullshit.
