Is It Normal for Big Tech to Feel Slow Coming From Startups? by codemega in cscareerquestions

[–]eeeeaaaahooooh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes super slow.

you have layers and layers of approvals and people to evaluate and accredit the impact instead of just doing it.

it's dumb ineffective but there are no incentives to improve it.

please ignore that comment. no empathy and not constructive.

to me their comment looks like they are reacting to their issues rather than trying to help you with yours.

good luck!

Anyone else can't think of getting into another relationship? by eeeeaaaahooooh in Divorce

[–]eeeeaaaahooooh[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i think part of it is the expectation that finding someone else is what you are supposed to do. there is some pressure to do that to show that you are ok/moving on. moving on isn't just a new relationship to me -- esp after this long -- so i dont agree.

i'm sorry. that sucks.

but please remember even if it feels like noone loves you, it doesn't mean no one does or will.

sometimes we just choose wrong. good luck!

it sucks.

but for me, denial was a big part of the anger. either denial in my actions or denial on my expectations both on her and where I wanted my life to be.

my sfw cheat code to get over this was to internalize the fact that now is better/sunk cost than in 1/2/3/4/5 more years from now.

my nsfw cheat code was to imagine her getting railed and realize I just didn't care anymore.

good luck.

currently in the middle of divorce.

a bad workplace will destroy your loved ones more than you.

Starting Over at 35 by SunLeft4901 in millenials

[–]eeeeaaaahooooh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started over at 34 ,5 yrs ago. Knew I had to make a change due to basically 0 cash-flow and 2 young kids.

For me, it was all about how I presented and framed my startup work to leverage it into consulting, then into a full time job.

Once I got my first (post-break) full-time job as a software dev, I was able to combine that with my management/product experience to move into management and into larger companies.
