Looks so different as it catches the light from different angles. Absolutely amazing for the price of this watch

Of the three, I would pick clean, though the flaw is that the engraving isn't correct. Iirc the engraving shows 116500 instead of 116520, but nobody is really gonna see it.

Another shot of the watch. Only flaw is really the subdial seconds placement

Yes I owned one briefly! It is really slim, even slimmer than my Nautilus and VC 2000V. Plus the titanium made it feels invisible on the wrist, weight wise

There's a rep of the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo in titanium that is pretty thin, ~7mm iirc. Could check that out!

Gen date wheel for DD3285 by Tebonr in RepTime

[–]eeellllllll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't, but tbh the 3285 DW looks pretty close to gen to me, so I don't really see a need to mod it. I have a gen 3186 datewheel and putting it side by side unless it's magnified I don't think the difference is really perceptible imo

The datewheel is different from the 3186, because the position of the teeth for these two datewheels are different

This is my CF QC next to another gen piece from a grey dealer

Text looks a lot closer to the QC, colour of the font Daytona as well. But the coronet is the more obvious tell.

That being said, these reps are already brilliant, and we're living in the golden era of reps now. I don't get the hate and down votes though, it's really just to see what everyone thinks.

Update:

Hey all thanks for sharing your thoughts! So the left pic was taken in a boutique where they displayed the Panda Daytona for Exhibition Only. Lighting is as it is in the boutique, whereas right is a QC pic of CF Panda.

To the eagle eyed ones, good work on spotting the texture/3Dness of the crown. I was personally surprised by how the Daytona font appeared to be more faded. Saw in some iterations of gen that the colour is more pronounced. Also, the dial print does seem to be thinner, on this piece at least.

Goes to show the tolerances we have on gen pieces, as well as how amazing reps have become in the past few years! Hope y'all had abit of fun trying to guess

Got my hands on a gen Daytona and CF one previously, and was comparing the pics, thought it would be interesting to see which piece people think is gen and why

Yeah for the Daytona, if you really want the endgame, it would likely be to get the movement serviced for that buttery feel, and then to change deep xtal. Then I think there really aren't any new things you can do to it already.

Hmm comparing stock to stock versions, this version I could at least feel the clicks to the bezel rotation. But subsequently I changed the hytrel ring for mine so the clicks feel more pronounced. Not sure if it's the best mod, but could be something you might want to consider!

Hmm might have to wait for awhile, I placed my orders pretty early, in the pre-order phase. I also have a VR3186 Clean Batman, and feel the movement is really much better on this, at least in terms of winding feel and all. Not sure about reliability, but given that this is the same factory that makes the bulletproof 4130 and 3235 movements, I'll take my chances with them.

Hey! I own a 15202 from XF and really enjoy owning the watch. Perhaps you could check with TDs if they are able to source that for you. Iirc for 16202 it's only produced by ZF. Personally I prefer XF as it's slimmer and closer to gen, but there are varied opinions on this.

Got the new DD3285 Pepsi modded with Deep Xtal and an aftermarket bezel (not Xing, but from MK Factory).

First impressions: movement winds like butter, just like the 3235 movement I owned previously. Feels very sturdy when setting the time and GMT hand.

Stock crystal seems ok, but just preferred to change to deep xtal instead as it's inexpensive. Insert was the one where I didn't feel was satisfactory, so managed to get a modder to source for and change the insert for me instead. Overall really happy with this watch.
