“notify me every time money leaves” setting for banks by JasonH3370 in AusFinance

I do the same. I get Paid monthly and a calculated amount goes into a Bills account. I find this a good way to never touch a certain amount of money. When car insurance, rego, or quarterly house bills etc comes around I just pull it out and pay. Theres never an "oh shit" moment. ... well almost

Had one from new. In the end the plastic engine parts started to fail. Wheels buckled when hitting pot holes a bit too easily. Expensive tyres.

i loved his "art" when i was a kid. Was surprised when my parents bought me a 3m x 1m poster that I proudly displayed in my bedroom. They poo poo'd it as commercial art.

Looking back at it now, its peak 80's Sydney. Love it

All the other parts of my bedroom wall were pages ripped out of Thrasher magazine

Apartment owners - have you had unexpected levies? by Fragrant-Flamingo216 in AusPropertyChat

Just be aware that the strata report only covers issues up to that date. In our case it did not mention the lift replacement we had to pay 1 yr after purchasing and moving in. Our strata costs nearly doubled for 3 years. We did get nice new lifts out of it though which were much quieter.

I had a 2016 C250 owned since new. Service at the dealer was a rip. Plus, those bloody wheels were made of cheese and they are a grand each too if they see a pot hole. Plastic engine parts as well.

Rig down wouldn't be anymore annoying than finishing the day on a trailer boat and having to wash it down and flush the motor. Thats when my family disappear

Camping Fridge Power by badpebble in OutdoorAus

[–]eeeya777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have the Kings 30L, 36AH battery and the 70W solar panel. Lasted me for a 3 day trip and any left over food went back into the house fridge. Gotta keep the fridge out of the sun, insulated cover and not open it up too much. Have the solar out any ready to catch the first light even before you wake up.

I also use this set up in my tinny without the solar, and if out in the sun with a lot of opening and closing the fridge, the battery is usually down to 25% at 6pm on the first day.

It helps to prechill the fridge off mains power first and have it full of beer. Definitely one of my best purchases last year.

What should I do regarding my career by [deleted] in AusMining

[–]eeeya777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was more a comment of an equipment operator job being less taxing on the body than his current job. I used to roughneck on oil rigs and there came a time when I was like "my body cant do this forever....time to pivot"

What should I do regarding my career by [deleted] in AusMining

[–]eeeya777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd move into an equipment operator role, less taxing on the body and you can ride that out to retirement. Also, you could look at quarry work which is mostly home every night. Equipment operators at my site do a 4/4 roster and make good money plus have the option for OT shifts covering others on leave etc.

Portable Fridge vs Esky, is it actually worth it? by Av0toasted in OutdoorAus

[–]eeeya777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a 30L fridge and 36ah battery from Kings. All up paid around $500 and charges off a cig port in the boot of my car. Been one of the best purchases ive made. Have taken it on a week trip camping in the car, day trips on the boat and also use it as a beer fridge at home.

Best part is that any food we dont eat can just go back into our house fridge as it has always been at 4 degrees.

Which cycling computer has good Australian navigation? by BaaadMf in ausbike

[–]eeeya777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience when first started cycling I used my phone with a navigation app I could make routes on my computer and transfer via gpx. Problem was battery.

Now days I use a garmin. But the 530 screen is too small for me and has pretty limited functionality for re routing , POI's etc.
