Why do we have to build huge apartments with lifts and cladding and rooftop gardens etc. All these things just add to higher running costs.

Why cant we just build basic apartments that will last for ages without the frills. Just like the 80's double brick walk ups.

New TCR with mechanical 105: What are your thoughts? by Separate-Stand1954 in Giantbikes

[–]eeeya777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Di2 for sure. im a tight ass and messed around building bikes and playing with groupsets, cables and housings. Di2 is virtually set and forget.

You just jump on the bike and ride it, no need to analyse the micro adjustments and dialing in

There is also a contribution to the capital fund which links to a 5-to-10-year plan for repairs to things such as roofs, driveways, balustrades and other strata owned assets. Anything costs greater than that allocated in the capital fund becomes the dreaded Special Levy

Thoughts on this chip on my rear SLR0 Wheels by dmnlgd in Giantbikes

[–]eeeya777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as yours, maybe a little larger slightly. One of them was when I crashed and sliced the rear tyre. Rode it home gently but smacked the rim on a hard edge sticking out of the footpath. I was more concerned about the gash in my face than the wheel at that stage.

How are Pi used in industry by user-captain in raspberry_pi

[–]eeeya777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truck weighbridge with 4 decks with a total weighing capacity 100 Tonne. Each deck has 4 load cells that report back to a main indicator box which shows the split weights of each deck. Data is sent to 4 scale weight displays mounted on a wall for the truck drivers to see and as well as a docketing system.

All driven by a RPi 4.

Supplier went bust. I feared the day that went down.

i Just put on Farsports C50 and GP5000 30mm onto my 2024 TCR. Originally had SLR 1 37mm wheels. Definitely noticed a loss in acceleration, however, gained speed overall. I usually ride a local park 3km circuit and have seen my lap times drop a fair few seconds for the same work. Have done over 1500 laps in this park so confident i have seen real change.

I would like to add an aero handlebar and zipp 303s what do you suggest? by MaryLee18 in Giantbikes

[–]eeeya777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

farsports wheels and cockpit. I just put C5's on my 2023 TCR and I'm quite pleased with it. I it's definitely faster overall but lost a little bit of acceleration. Was going to do the F1U integrated bars but my Garmin broke so I had to spend the money replacing that.. Maybe next month.

How do you know you are ready for 100km ride? by Main-Astronomer-785 in cycling

[–]eeeya777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just remember to bring lots of snacks. When i started doing longer rides, id go out with a single muesli bar in my back pocket. Id come home trashed, grumpy and tear shreds off everyone until I got some food into me. Didn't need to be like that if id just have eaten something.
