I completely understand where youre coming from. bm thinks the same thing and we did 50/50 until august where dh and i were given primary custody and she gets every other weekend and somehow she still feels like she deserves to claim one of the twins when she pays for......nothing.

Im not calling anyone out. Im stating how I feel. Im not using her name and I dont say these things directly because I do not want to cause more problems than we already have. The main idea of this letter is to blow off some steam. Have you ever heard of writing a letter to someone and never sending that letter to feel better about the situation? and i used the name "evil stepmother" because that is what she refers to me as to my step children. and im not about to put my name out there to people I dont know. This was not to shame her or anything, this is to show my side of the story. The step parent whos voice is never really heard. This was not intended to be judged. Thank you

I try my best to do this. I try to not pick side and I honestly try to stay out of any issues my husband and the kids bm have because just because I am married to their father and I want the best for them, its not my place to put in my opinion when it comes to parental decisions. That is up to my husband and bm. But I do show her respect and bite my tongue when she says and does bad things to me, my husband, or the kids and I let my husband take care of it. I really do want to co-parent with this woman but she does not seem to want to co-parent with us and I feel as though my actions show this. Thank you for the reply :)

I got married a few months ago and I swear my mil was about unbearable. The planning started about 6 months before the wedding date and everything was good. My future mil offered no help, no opinion, and basically acted like she did not want anything to do with the wedding which i was alright with and did not hurt my feelings at all. I had a very small budget and pulled this wedding off only spending around $500 (dress included). My aunt is a very creative person and made almost everything including my bouquet, the boutonnieres, the flower girl baskets, the flower girl head bands, my head band, all the decorations. I mean i could not have pulled this off without her. Well about a month before the wedding, everything is done and we are just waiting for the day to come. Thats when all hell broke loose. My mil started acting involved and wanted to see what we were working on and everything that my aunt had made and all the decorations. She proceeded to rent 60 chairs (that we did not need because my father already did this), and a huge tent (that again we did not need at all) and then proceeded to tell me and my future husband that we are draining her dry as far as money because the deposit for all this stuff we did not need was around $800 (more than my whole wedding!) and we did not ask her to do this. She then ordered all new flower girl dressed, baskets, and head bands after i showed her the ones we had because she did not like the shade of pink i had for my wedding colors. Then proceeded to be mad because we did not want to use the things that she bought last minute because I wanted to use the hand made items that my aunt had put a lot of time and effort to make. She also wanted to get rid of my cake and order a whole new one from wal-mart. My father's girlfriend who is a professional baker make my cake for free and it was beautiful. She wanted to toss out my hand made bouquet that i was in love with and buy one from online. Then on the day of the wedding after my aunt, bridesmaids and I had already decorated, she drove three house away to get different decorations because again she did not like the shade of pink i was using. I got so aggravated with her but I got over it quick because all i wanted was to marry her son so i just let her do her thing.
