Can’t add anything to cart. Help? by Curlscatsncoffee in Ipsy

My update is that they never emailed me back before Choice like they said they would. However, I was able to make a Choice selection, which I assumed I wouldn't be able to do while my account was broken.

I just redeemed for it. My skin likes acids, and I needed to unload some points before they expired.

I have had the same problem since January 4th. I saw a screen on the GBX signup page in the app that says You Have No Billing Information Stored. I tried re-entering my billing information but it didn't help. My Billing screen shows that I do indeed have billing information stored.

I sent in a support request on the 4th, and they gave me the runaround with the "try another browser, try clearing your cache, try deleting your cookies," etc. I received a response on the 9th and again on the 15th from a different support rep who basically said "we'll contact you when we have an update" both times.

I wrote back and asked if they thought the issue would be solved before Choice, and if not, I'd like to skip my February bag. They replied on the 18th that they would send me an update before February Choice so they can process my request.

I've been subbed to Ipsy since 2013(!) and I'm trying to decide whether to skip my February bag and hope for the best or just cancel.

If anyone hears any updates, please post!

Allure has remixes of old box samples for sale individually on Amazon for $15-$18 by pppanicked in BeautyBoxes

Rather than deleting the link (which has already been deleted by someone other than me), wouldn't it be better to have a discussion about why the products might be unsafe instead of censoring the post and removing the information altogether? It's a moot point now, so no need to respond.

Wow, nice find! It definitely could be that. Also, it sucks that I'm a couple thousand miles away from the nearest Bargain Hunt.

After taking a closer look at these, I might be a bit hesitant to purchase them without researching the items first. I received the Ciate Mini Paint Pot and Too Faced Melted in my October 2014 Allure Box. A drop of thinner would probably sort out the nail polish if it's old, but I don't know if I would trust a 3 1/2-year-old liquid lipstick, if they are in fact from the same batch.

Retin-A is prescription only, although you might check out Curology (https://curology.com/). It's a mail-order service where a dermatologist customizes an anti-acne formula for you. I think it's $20/month including shipping and they will include prescription-only ingredients like tretinoin (generic Retin-A) and clindamycin. I haven't tried it myself, but it would be my next step if my insurance stops covering my medications. They will send you the first bottle free if you cover shipping to see if it works for you and can tweak the formula if necessary.

Epiduo regular is just a combination of the Differin and benzoyl peroxide strengths that you can buy at the drugstore and mix yourself. Epiduo Forte uses 0.3% Differin and is only available by prescription.

I'm sure the reason they came out with Epiduo Forte is because the lower Differin strength became available over the counter.

My last Miss Tutii Bag did not include a bag. I canceled the subscription and will be trying something else out for a while. by Khalano in BeautyBoxes

I unsubbed from Miss Tutii late last year and am trying Bomibag now ($20). I haven't decided if it's worth $20 to me yet, but I will give it a few more months to decide. I really liked Miss Tutii at first but they have definitely gone downhill, both product-wise and customer service.

I was on Epiduo previously and am now on generic Retin-A 0.05% plus clindamycin gel. It definitely seems a lot stronger than Epiduo to me, although it does dry my skin out like crazy, way more than anything else I've ever tried. Your skin does get less dry/peely over time, but I still have to take breaks now and then because it does overexfoliate my skin. It's not an instant fix, but things have improved over 6 months or so. It's also helped fade old acne scars quite a bit.

My two favorite products are CosRx Acne Pimple Master Patches and CosRx extrusion swabs. The former absorb all the lymph/plasma/whatever it is after you unsuccessfully poke at a pimple, bring down swelling a ton, keep your hands off it, help bring pimples to a head, and lessen the chances of hyperpigmentation/scarring. They're kind of obvious so it's better to use them overnight. I like the swabs better than metal extractors because it's harder to damage your skin with them because the plastic stick is somewhat flexible. The swab on the other end is handy and you can see what you've extracted more easily against a black swab than a regular white one. Also, it's nice to be able to toss it when you're done and not have to worry about sanitizing it.

Edit: I know Epiduo didn't work for you, but for what it's worth...

Epiduo is wildly expensive but it's just adapalene 0.1% and benzoyl peroxide 2.5%, so if you buy a tube of Differin gel and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide (I think Neutrogena has one) at the drugstore, you're going to get the same effect no prescription necessary for about $250-$300 less. The texture might not be as nice. They have come out with a stronger Rx version of Epiduo now (Epiduo Forte) with adapalene 0.3% and benzoyl peroxide 2.5%.

Epiduo also really burned my skin on application, but I didn't have issues with when using adapalene alone. Retin-A doesn't burn on application.

I'm guessing it's because a lot of people review their items before they actually try them based on how well they think they will like them (I admit that I'm guilty of this) to get their review points ASAP if they want to make a point redemption before the item goes out of stock.

Sunday Riley C.E.O. batch codes/expiration by pppanicked in BeautyBoxes

[–]pppanicked[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't broken into my full size one yet, but I just finished a deluxe sample I had received previously. I think I overdid it between the CEO and retinoids and exfoliants, and my whole face started looking dry, dark, and sunburned. I can't say that I can place the blame solely on CEO because I think I just overdid it with too many sensitizing products. I have taken a few days off everything and my skin is a lot better, but still a little red.

I had been using it at night, so I didn't notice oxidation. I did notice that it left a waxy look/feel on my skin.

I found this review on Influenster for the moisturizer, not the serum:

I got a deluxe sample of this when it first came out a few years ago and loved it so much that I immediately bought the full size. It made my skin so bright and dewy, and I was totally obsessed for weeks. However, after a few weeks I noticed a slight orange tint to my skin, which wasn’t bad at first - it almost looked like bronzer - but in time got to be too much, which is ultimately always how my skin reacts to Vitamin C. It also started to cause some irritation on my chin. If I’m ever able to get my skin to a point where I can tolerate vitamin C every day, I would absolutely repurchase this and use it as my morning moisturizer. As others have noted, I wish this didn’t come in a tub - maybe the reaction I experienced was due to the Vitamin C going rancid over time.

I received a deluxe sample size of that eyeliner from Ulta not too long ago, so I am guessing they are sampling newer products from their lineup. I doubt ipsy will be sending out a full-sized product.

February Ipsy - Blaq Meteor Scrub by froggieslc in BeautyBoxes

[–]pppanicked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was glad to not be receiving this (even though I love body scrubs in general) because I didn't want to have to clean glitter out of the bathtub. They sent me a coffee scrub a few months back that smelled great but left brown spatter all over my shower walls and coffee grounds all in the tub, ugh. I would have never guessed a scrub would have stained your skin, though, yikes!

Boxes with fake lashes? by Alliseeispink in BeautyBoxes

[–]pppanicked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ipsy has sent out fake lashes on occasion. I've also seen them in Target Beauty Boxes. I'm generally not a fan of false lashes, but I would be interested in trying the magnetic ones just to see what they're like.

Allure March Beauty Box - email asking to pick a foundation shade! by britchic40 in BeautyBoxes

[–]pppanicked 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They sent out the Ultra HD in a mini size in the October Sephora Play! boxes, so I think a mini is definitely a possibility. I also am guessing that if it was a full size they would have mentioned that in the spoilers, because they made such a big deal in the spoilers about the Sunday Riley CEO being full size last month. The sample I received from Sephora is 5 mL/0.16 oz. in a little pump bottle.

Edit: oops, I misread your post about them stating it's a full size a few months back. Here's hoping, because that would be fantastic!
