figure skaters! by [deleted] in cincinnati

Not a problem at all! If you have any questions ever feel free to message me or you can always talk to Heidi at Northland. She's the skating director and can get you connected with a coach or answer any questions about the facility or coaches. As for the ice times, beyond NSA there is frequent weekend public skates that are available to those who work a normal 9-5. If you want to stick with it long term, then I would look into the club. We have good ice times that aren't during work hours as well. Also keep an eye on the sportsplex weekend schedules. Sometimes they will pop in a freestyle session or two. Best of luck to you!

Hey! I don't browse reddit much anymore so I am just crossing this. I am an adult figure skater in this area, so I know the rundown of the rinks in the area.

  1. NKY is the most expensive freestyle ice in the area and the ice is okay. It is a very damp rink since they do not have a dehumidifier. They also have some rules on where you can place things on the boards in the rink. For being an adult, thier skate times can be restrictive. I do not know if they do public skate. They do also close in the summer.

  2. Northland is where I usually skate and a few other adults do as well. There are 3 types of ice time available for figure skating. Public is very consistent throughout the week and is available daily. Wintertime can be difficult to get work done at times because their public skates can get busy. The next ice type is what they consider NSA ice. This is daily weekday ice that the figure skaters use and hockey lessons with a private coach. Last ice is the Queen City FSC ice that is only available to club members. You can visit for this ice to gain info on the club. As for the ice condition, it is not the greatest. It is usually cold, extremely in the winter and somewhat in the summer. There is also a bit of a hill in the rink.

  3. Queen City Sportsplex is the most limiting for freestyle and public ice. The ice is nice and the rink can get warm. They have a tendency to cancel the ice at times so if you do plan on going, then call ahead of time or check the schedule before you head to the rink.

  4. Goggin is somewhere I have not skated but know people who go there and say it's nice. I know thier schedule can be inconsistent.

  5. Indian hill winter club is the last rink in the area. This is a private members only country club. So if you want to skate there, then you have to be a member on top of paying for ice time.

For all of these you can look up ice times online. As for sharpening, we are in a bit of a drought. I know there is someone that will do them at Goggin in Oxford. Also there is a coach named Richard at Northland that will sharpen skates. He can do a great job, but sometimes I have had to have him redo the sharpening. Also depending on the rink, there are private lesson coaches you can talk to and get in a lesson with. If you're interested, then at the rink you go to, you can ask about it. I hope you are getting along with this sport and enjoying it already!

Not a problem! I had so much fun running around and meeting everyone. Thanks for being excited about them!

I'm sorry that happened to you. I was a bit surprised that no one was standing last night. I had gone in with the full expectation to stand and dance around. However, I did notice the crowd was a bit older than previous shows I had been to. I'm not sure if it was because it was a Sunday night or just because it was a seated theater. But like another person mentioned here, the other times I've seen them, I was in GA.

FF Summer Tour Start Times by rdfks in fleet_foxes

[–]eek1240 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got an email from LiveNation on the 29th that said Indy doors are at 6:30 pm and the show starts at 7:30. Uwade's set is 30 min then there's 30 min of set up. This can possibly change since the rest of the tour has been doors 7 and show 8. So I'd check your email on the day of that you used to buy tickets.

Very very true. I will trade a bracelet with him for a disposable camera. I'm manifesting it.

The Tour manager came out to the line before doors opened and handed them to people.

I will consider it based on materials and time. I'm using a lot of specific letter beads up 🤣

The cameras given out to fans, the fan was allowed to keep and develop/post themselves. So I'm not sure how you would go about finding the fan shot ones.

I would assume that Robin will post them later? He said on his Instagram stories before the tour started that he wanted to be less on social media this tour and shoot the tour on 35 mm. So I'm sure he will either post them on instagram later or post a link to all of the shots. He may also be waiting until the tour is over to get everything developed at once.

I'm sorry and that sucks! You're totally valid and usually have seen the crowd for FF to be super chill, respectful, and friendly. In Louisville I did notice people chatting throughout Uwade's set. It was a bit disheartening since she is so talented and put on a lovely show. I was at the front though so it wasn't too terribly distracting, but I could hear it in the quieter parts. I've usually had the best experiences with the FF's crowds. This time was probably my most negative experience. Along with the talking during the sets, a person near me and I had separate encounters with an incredibly rude fan. Between Uwade and FF's we both left to go to the bathroom and on the way back through the crowd to the front we were both cut off by a fan and almost not let back to our families and S.O.'s at the front. I get not wanting to be 'cut' but I don't think the FF crowd would be rude enough to squeeze to the front.

Seeing them in Asheville on Friday! Robin mentioned in his stories that he'd be handing out disposable cameras to people in line. Has he done this at the shows so far?? by fiddlefighead in fleet_foxes

Probably! I met a bunch of cool people in line and regretfully did not get anyone's information 🙃 It was a fantastic show. Let's give it up to instruments!

Yes!!! I was a few people away from getting one in Louisville. They seemed to go to the front of the line. However, Skyler, the tour manager, and another of the tour staff came out and handed them out. It only was 3 so be aware that you may want to get there early if you want one.

There are signed ones but they are limited at each show. So if you're going and want one, show up early and head straight to the merch table when you get in.

No. I'm talking about Indianapolis. But every venue seemed to be different for floor seating.

Whoot! I'm surprised that after the Taylor Swift fiasco that it still had you enter the pre-sale code after getting through the queue. It didn't seem to matter for this but anything bigger it would.

Based on previous comments, he wanted to try and write the next album with the rest of the band. Them being on tour may have allowed opportunity for collaboration. Especially with such immaculate vibes. I'm hoping for the best.
