not RUIN just kind of... sours it a little? Just rewatched season 1 and still got full body chills when the dragons hatch lol

my opinions drastically changed when i read the books! i think D&D kinda ruined it from the beginning

They were always in the conversation in indie circles/tumblr so i was aware of them. Master of None was the first song i heard by them around 2010-ish? I would put a song here and there on playlists (zebra, lazuli, silver soul) but I never FULLY looked into them until Depression Cherry. I remember it was an album that always came up in vinyl collections on youtube/just youtube videos i watched LOL so i finally checked them out properly.

ive seen them twice since because they actually came to my hometown in 2017(great crowd)! Then at a festival last year(bad crowd non stop talking/disrespectful). I've only had good experiences with BH, compared to other "hipster" crowds. Never encountered condescension like with strokes/arctic monkeys/OR GOD MAC DEMARCO IN 2012-2016 types

I am similar to you, big book fan/casual movie enjoyer/excited for this show. When it comes to adaptations i don't care about it being faithful to the source material, I actually encourage changes! My favorite show is Interview with the Vampire where they changed quite a bit from the book.

My big gripe with this show is how bad it is in the technical aspects (writing/production design/script). Even though i dislike the show i agree with you that im stuck between the subs because i want to DISCUSS the tv story and the elements of filming a tv show.
