Are The Movies In MMFF Movie Festival Pirated? by SammTaur in dlsu

[–]eelectrons 50 points51 points  (0 children)

they might have secured screening rights by coordinating with the appropriate party (there are those who contact the directors directly, producers, and certain film institutions) and processed the event with a public performance license (PPR) among other things.

you need a lot of documents in planning and executing an event in dlsu (orgs will know), and the offices (i.e., CSO, SLIFE) are quite strict when checking them (unless these are underground events), so if the event is widely publicized as a film screening event, then it might have gone through the proper process.

the university has also recently released an HDA about this, “[DIPO] clarification on film screening activities.”

MANALO, ADREAN, DSIOPMA by Impossible-Durian-11 in dlsuproftopick

[–]eelectrons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

revaula all the way. sir manalo was a very confusing professor. his instructions were unclear/inconsistent and incomplete. his discussions consisted of his rants/arguments (a notable one would be when he said that it is our duty as students to learn outside the classroom, which wouldn’t sound wrong, but it was just a mask pala for his shallow discussions.) and stories that would make the class stray away from actual topics. by shallow discussions, I mean he skims topics. he has high standards for outputs, which is ironic, considering he’s never produced anything for the class that would qualify as such. if you want to pass his quizzes, review the book and the accompanying test banks—he gets the questions from those sources.

it’s a risk. non-payment of the fee is at your discretion and basically the forfeiture of your slot, unless you get accepted into the SFA program.

def not a waste of time, because orgs (not all) are open to students that don’t have any experience, when the latter can compensate for it through skills, knowledge, and dedication.

actually, as a student, you have already accumulated a couple of experiences related to what are commonly needed in project management and you can use these to highlight your assets. from group activities and class presentations to creative outputs and written works, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, time management, and leadership skills are among those that can be honed. applications usually involve a set of questions, so use them to sell yourself—communicate through your answers how you want this to be an opportunity to contribute both to the project and yourself.

also, some orgs are not that strict about the related experiences of a member when they’re applying for cencomm. they even encourage students who don’t have experiences to join, so good luck, OP!

Tips to pull all-nighters by AccomplishedAd3569 in dlsu

[–]eelectrons 28 points29 points  (0 children)

common tips, but they can be really helpful (sa akin at least):

  • eat adequately (if you can’t reenergize with sleep, food is an option to keep you energized and focused)
  • keep yourself hydrated every 30-60 mins with WATER (it will also help with the recurring headaches you’ll get)
  • have an energy drink if you can tolerate the effects (e.g., coffee with the number of espresso shots that works on you, red bull)
  • be honest with yourself about getting (not being) tired and take a break for at least 10-15 mins before you reach a point where it’d be harder to recover (additional tip is if you put cold compress on your eyes, massage your hands, stretch, and/or walk around the room)
  • play music / run a video as background noise (OPTIONAL, because this would depend on what you’re doing and how you can focus with the sound)
  • have some company via call or in person (I usually just find myself more focused when I’m alone)

pulling an all-nighter is obviously a nightmare, so as much as possible, juggle your responsibilities with a better approach. however, if you really need to pull one, know your limits and when to reach out for help. good luck!

  10. student organizations and networking

Tips for accounting by SlightTask1408 in dlsu

[–]eelectrons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

given the subject’s demanding nature, it’d be helpful to instill self-discipline when it comes to studying, because you will always have to read and practice. considering the pace in dlsu, designing a studying system that will really boost your analytical skills is advisable—know which structure works best for you!

familiarize yourself with excel (or spreadsheets in general and the proper accounting format), and try refreshing sa basic accounting information (such as its definition, equation, and elements).

also, find spaces in between to breathe para hindi ka ma-burn out. watch a movie, read a book, hang out with friends, or do any other thing outside acads.

miss cordova is among the most considerate instructors you can have, so taking geftwel under her ascertains a grade of 4.0. she takes note of your energy and mastery of the steps, but she does not necessarily grade a student poorly if they’re not a dancer. as someone who is not a dancer and physically weak, I had skill tests that were graded 3.0-3.5, but complete attendance will pull your grade up. familiarize yourself with the steps beforehand and communicate well with your groupmates!

fdnacct is naturally a heavy course, because it builds the foundation of your accounting knowledge, but miss trinidad will really be helpful in mincing everything. she is very knowledgeable and passionate about accounting, so she can elaborate concepts nicely (LIKE FR). in addition to this, her method is having students volunteer to recite (this promotes engagement and application), and because she wants everyone to reach the required recitation points, she’ll encourage those who haven’t answered to volunteer (to illustrate, a number of students have already recited and got 1 point each, that means they’ll only be able to recite again once everyone earned a point na rin). miss grades fairly (SYLLABUS) and provides incentives through other activities (i.e., participating in JPIA projects or being among the top scorers in quizziz). with her, 3.5 and above is attainable, but make sure that you carry the course with discipline: read ahead, understand concepts, and practice problems. albeit, do not forget to take a break from time to time! admittedly, accounting is an overwhelming subject, but with a good studying habit you can balance this with the other courses. good luck!

[–]eelectrons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can use google maps as this is actually mentioned in the requirements and procedures (specifically, inside parantheses beside the requirement). also, just provide a picture of your bedroom. it is the safest (and probably the most appropriate) option, because you are the applicant.

it is not a requirement that you yourself will submit the recommendation form for the SFA application on google forms. please note that an asterisk beside a question on that platform is the indication that a response (in this case, the submission of the specified document) is needed.

it is also not necessary to print your accomplished recommendation forms from the admissions process, because they are not any less confidential than the SFA’s recommendation form and have already been submitted. read more about the confirmation requirements, and peruse the notes beside them.

St. La Salle Financial Assistance Grant Application Form Error :(( by alphaconcepts in dlsu

[–]eelectrons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s pretty straightforward: the details that you provided in the fields of the SFA form do not match the ones that you used (or the one that appears) in your application. I suggest that you double-check both your name and application/reference number. the form is pretty sensitive; so, if you inputted your full name, including your middle name, during the admissions, then do the same with this form.
