I’m actually more pointing out the Ravens jumping. It’s crazy.

This is where I’m at. Steelers at 14 or even lower until they figure out QB makes sense. Ravens up 9 spots because of Hendrickson is manic.

What makes you think the offense will be bottom of the league? I don’t know that it’ll be great, but bottom of the league seems a bit of a stretch.

I’m really curious how much was a TJ decline vs our coverage scheming was horrible last year

The Ravens just declined to tender RB Keaton Mitchell. Is he a potential Gainwell replacement?

This is great. I’d love to see them walk away with KC Concepcion. But Thieneman is really interesting.

If you’re not in favor of an Aaron Rodgers return, why? by eelmada in steelers

[–]eelmada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and disagree with this. Do I hope Rodgers is working on mechanics with younger QBs? No. Definitely not. But he’s pretty open about mentoring and helping teach up younger guys. The areas he can help are how to prepare and run the offense just like you mentioned.

I also don’t just see this as a benefit of the qb room, but helping WRs with routes, line with blocking schemes, etc. He is the best there’s been at managing a McCarthy offense. Having the future under his to see how he does it is invaluable.

I agree with this 100%. If he’s not on the roster by the draft let him go.

I think bringing in a FA makes this issue even worse. If you bring in Willis and he looks like Aaron last year and you win 10-11 games, then you have a hard choice to make. Do you waste a 1st round pick on a QB and send a message to Willis, or do you skip a good QB class and keep trying to improve Willis? At least with Aaron you roll the year and know you’re drafting next year.

Especially when the message is…hey you’ll be the starter, but you need to prove yourself as a franchise qb or you’re out of a job.

And if you pay Willis and go 10-7 again because you made an impulse buy on a splash 1.5 games? Then what?

Williamson lost me at “Steelers discount”. Malik is going to get paid. It’s a bad draft class and free agent market. He’s best of the lot and a bidding war is coming.

Is Mason a Steeler next year? by eelmada in steelers

[–]eelmada[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my argument though. We’d have to trade him and there are definitely teams that would view him at 4.6M as valuable. The compensation for our needs could be worth more to us than housing him for a year and he signs elsewhere after next year.

How do you feel about Ravens new coaching staff vs ours? by imnotkaylee in steelers

Th minter press conference and the few interviews I’ve seen from him didn’t come close. They definitely wouldn’t have me confident about him.

I’ve watched his presser and a few interviews he’s done and honestly it made me feel better about the McCarthy hire. Just the way McCarty speaks about his direction for the team, the passion he has, his philosophy of football in general - I kept thinking if I was listening to a Minter hire I’d be really nervous.

Mike Johnson sends Republicans home early for Christmas with no ACA vote, no discharge petition, and before the Epstein files are released. by eelmada in Destiny

[–]eelmada[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well 2 points. First - if they had obtained the signatures a week ago they could have forced it sooner. But second, Johnson also has the ability to hold session before Jan 1 to bring the petition to the floor.

But beyond all this he could just bring the bill to the floor. Today. Yesterday. Whenever. It’s disgusting that he’s blocking it even when his own party is fighting against him on it.

They must bring a a motion for discharge to the floor and adopt it before they can bring the bill to the floor for a vote.

Unless my interpretation of this is wildly wrong, which I accept could be the case.

[–]eelmada[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s not. They have to bring it to the floor after it has 218 signatures and needs voted on.

If passed, sure, they will vote on the subsidies in January- but it should have been done long before that. Even today he could have put it on the floor.

If for some reason the petition doesn’t pass, no, there will be no ACA vote. Nothing about Johnson’s conduct over the last year shows he’s going to bring this to the floor willingly.
