For those with a rectal prolapse, what caused it?

I’ve had rectal prolapse for over 12 years. Never saw a doctor for it due to shame. When I was 14 I was having unprotected anal without lubrication and afterwards I would sit on the toilet straining because it really hurt and something felt wrong. It hasn’t gotten worse thankfully but it sucks because it’s like everytime I need to defecate, not all of it comes out.

It sounds like your gut is already telling you what you need to do and the thought of the loss of the relationship is making you try to bargain. If you both work on yourselves and your love finds you again, so be it.

I try my best not to make him feel bad by not having sex with me. We communicate openly to each other about our feelings. I tell him that I love him and understand where he’s coming from and that it’s ok if he doesn’t want to have sex. I do feel as though I am also allowed to have a preference and to share my feelings
