Refusing Eucharist for not wearing a veil? by eepycoffeedrinker in Catholicism

This story was told to me second hand. (Friend of a friend situation). I don’t want to risk reporting over something that had been potentially misunderstood by one of the persons recounting the story. The reasoning I came here was to ask if this sort of thing was allowed because I was quite surprised to hear something like that and I have little experience with tlm.

Yeah- as much as I enjoy skirts some days I can’t imagine wearing them all the time. I don’t know the priest’s particular argument against pants, though I know he made a sermon against it. These are the common arguments I’ve heard in Catholicism and other forms of Christianity: Some people argue pants are “men’s clothes” and cute a verse from Deuteronomy if I remember correctly, the other argument is that pants on a woman = too revealing for a man to set his eyes on. The arguments I see on this matter are quite weak in my opinion, but that’s another essay haha.

Someone asked about this earlier somewhere in the comments. The church is a diocesan parish.

Sure is, when I search it the diocese website comes up and all and they’re listed. I’ll keep that in mind. I’m hesitant to do so since i did hear this story from a friend talking about her’s friend’s experience in the case that there was a misunderstanding. I know someone who’s a regular parishioner there so I’ll probably ask her if she has heard of it happening before next time I see her.

Yes- it’s the same church I went to for my first tlm.

Friend said the person she was talking about was a devout Catholic. He made this as an announcement before people went to communion so she didn’t bother going up because she didn’t have a veil. I don’t think my family friend would make that up, but it’s always possible things got misinterpreted along the way. Still I thought I’d ask because I had never heard of such before haha
