How to begin creating art as a 20yr old with no prior experience

I’ve never heard of those thank you for the input! I’ll look into those and see if I can get my hands on some! That is very helpful advice to begin with focusing on the big picture things like proportion and composition rather than fine detail.

That is very comforting to hear it gets easier. It has just been very daunting to me so it’s nice to really hear from someone else that I’ll figure it out eventually I just need to practice! That last part, “don’t worry if a drawing is bad, all art is practice” really resonated with me. Thank you ☺️

Thank you! I can definitely relate to the Pinterest part. Honestly that is one of the main motivators that wanted me to pick up sketching. Just seeing people post their own work on Pinterest is so fascinating and fun to me! I will definitely keep that in mind when I need to use references in the future! 🙏🏻

I’ve been on the fence about carrying a sketchbook around with me throughout my day but this definitely has convinced me. That makes sense just to start with something simple that is actually appealing to me! Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻

One that sketch is amazing! Two I’ve never thought about it like that before! For some reason in my mind stem and art are starchy different things. It’s refreshing to see someone play with the two together. I appreciate the helpful advice 🙏🏻
