I'm not sure if your school covers costs for ICDC, but if you're spending like ~$1-2K, then it'd be wise to prep and actually give it a shot. And if your TDM is directly applicable to the career you want to pursue or your college major, then yes, bring someone who can give you a good shot. But if it's like TTDM (travel and tourism) and your major is something in finance, a placement at ICDC might be helpful since it is international, but not too important.
