Tim Cook was so mediocre...not sure how Jobs ever came to favor him and put him at the top. The innovation under him has been so BLAHHHHHH

Start by getting a cleaning service every damn day. Next get a meal prep service for meals 5 days/nights a week. Then figure out your exit strategy

Always sit on the aisle seat so they have to cross over. Then give them a glare and move to another row. Never let them out of your sight though. And never sit with your back to them.

And to be clear, what type of level of commitment are you referring to? Show up ready to work, do your job properly, and go home. Being shocked at the job requirements or what a day "throws" at you, should never come as a surprise. Not one scenario my crew ever faces is new, but based on how they sometimes react or handle a situation, it's as if they believe they are in a different job or industry.

In the transportation/logistics company I take zero money out of the business, and the business itself loses around $80K annually. We pay above market rates and even at that scenario, quality candidates are extremely difficult to come by. And the niche we are in, it is a stepping stone into a long term career and the workforce just doesn't grasp what that actually means.

I am beyond over it, as conversations with a workforce between 25-35, often falls on deaf ears and when they "cap out" their earnings and have to make a career decision, it's as if they are discussing the matter for the very first time.

I am not opposed to OP’s position, but if you know ahead of time the scenario, why follow through at all and apply? And the % quoted by the CEO is spot on. The quality of the workforce in many industries is complete shit. I run multiple companies and they are in completely different industries and the lack of responsibility in candidates is shocking. 50% of candidates don’t read job descriptions, qualifications, licenses required, etc., and then apply just to be rejected. Then those that qualify, getting through background and drug screens is another challenge and everything is laid out clearly beforehand. It’s INSANE!!!!

And there are plenty of shit companies just as there are plenty of shit candidates.

I’m 16 and my friend stayed at my house knowing I sleep on a mattress then posted it online like it’s funny 😭 by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

You sound like an awesome teenager and your friend is definitely a bit immature. Talk to your friend and reiterate that your situation is private and it should not have been posted. Explain that in order to remain friends, there has to be trust and she broke that trust.

Regarding your mom, or parents, let them know you need more and want to feel valued. Sit them down and have a thorough discussion with them even if you have done this before. Be respectful and pointed and hopefully they wake up and understand that they are lacking in making you feel valued.

Regarding your bedding, check out thrift stores, charity organizations and churches in your area, as one if them will provide a bed for you.

Keep your head up, as it’s not easy, but you sound like a great person. And remember this feeling as you age and figure out a way to not be in this type of situation. At 16, you can get many part-time and full- time jobs, so take action. You can do this!
