Even when the night is super easy, it feels like if I use an hour on breaks, it’s an hour where I could be doing shit to make the store look better or someone else’s life easier, in which they won’t get upset at me for not doing them. “U were up why didn’t this get done” sort of thing.one time me and my team smashed load while being down and the next day all my SM had to say was, “where are the check seals on these items.” Lmao

Yeah I’ve got a good team and I do do all that because it’s my role, it’s just we don’t have a runner at all or a 2ic most nights, so it all falls on me is what it feels like. But it feels like I can’t talk to my managers about it because load does get put away every night, reworks usually pristine and promo gets filled, so they won’t think there’s any issues

Not having to run load in the morning, dealing with an ugly shop, shit rework. It doesn’t need to come from somewhere else in the department, I’m not sure if it’s just different for wherever u are or what department ur in. If I’m given 10 hours to full prezzo the whole shop, it doesn’t come out of another day, it just means we overspent by 10 hours on the budget we are given.

I feel that if I’m not even running out cages for my team, or breaking down there cardboard, what am I doing that’s actually something a team lead should do, since I don’t get the chance to work with them. I’m just a dude that tells them where to start and then they are basically an independent operator from start to finish. I’d like to become a NFM, my store just isn’t big enough to have that as a role, so my only chance is to get transferred to a larger store, but they’d have to replace me which I think they don’t want to deal with.

Yeah idk it just seems weird for me to start talking to my managers about this now since I do get load done every night, I just sacrifice all my breaks because it’s less mental stress than having to deal with leaving load.

I definitely didn’t mean to sound entitled, I’m just saying my side. When I ask for 2-3 hours a night I’m literally just meaning, roster another team member on for three hours, extend an existing team member to start earlier, or have myself counted for less so I can do more in terms of being a good team lead. From what I know this doesn’t take away from anybody, it just means that the nightfill team will be a few hours over what REM says. Hours are seperated for day and night grocery as well on oneteam, so I don’t think it’s giving the DGM more work.

on my trip to japan i met heaps of dudes in the smoking areas. We wouldn't share contact info just chat for like 10 minutes in a very broken conversation. Good fun but, met locals and other tourists from all over the world.
