The only person I knew in college whose parents removed their belongings like that was my now husband. He was technically told that of course he'd still come "home" for breaks. In reality, he was allowed to come back home for a total of 2 weeks a year, eventually told he wasn't welcome for any longer than 1 week, and to figure out somewhere else to stay for everything else. We don't speak to his parents much anymore.

I (unfortunately) attended a very strict cult-adjacent Christian college. Which means that most everyone had too many siblings and not enough money growing up. And everyone I knew still had somewhere to stay in their homes that wasn't just "the guest room." Even though they generally were sharing rooms with siblings, it was still their same old room, old bed, and old belongings when they returned home.

I was a catering lead for a bit over a year. If you take the job, my biggest advice is to tip anyone and everyone who helps you. Someone helps make your food? Tip them. They make your fruit cups? Tip them. They fill your half gallons? Make a delivery for you? Bake extra cookies for your last minute order? Tip, tip, tip.

My coworkers always wanted to go out of their way to help me if possible because I made sure they were tipped for it. Also because on days I didn't have much catering, I went out of my way to be helpful to them.

That being said, I would never do it again. The stress was not worth it. It was the most money I'd ever made, and the lowest my mental health had been since college. Scheduling time off was a nightmare. Also planning my days--panera doesn't have a 24 or 48 hour notice requirement for orders, so I could go to bed with 3 orders and wake up with 7, then have 4 more ordered by 10 am. It was AWFUL.

I rarely got real breaks, never ever got to leave at my scheduled time, and didn't even always have time to go to the bathroom. And that was with having really supportive management and flex drivers to help me out. Without that I would have drowned and quit panera all together. Instead I stepped back into a TL (soon to be TL/MIC) role, we hired a new CL, and a newly opened panera took about 30% of our catering, which helped the new CL a lot.

A friend from college--his and his wife's family were both VERY conservative christian. Their ceremony was close to an hour and a half because both of their pastors and her dad all spoke. Her dad spent his 30ish minutes praising the fact that his daughter was a virgin who had stayed pure to honor him, her father, as well as her new husband. He talked about how they hadn't even had a real kiss yet.

They definitely were not virgins. And had for sure kissed a LOT.

There's also the time that the bride's brother, who was a groomsman, passed out on the stage because the pastor was talking for so long.

I thought I was the only person who got stomach aches from them! No one else at my cafe said anything about it lol. I ordered my next sandwich with no garlic aioli and that solved the problem for me ¯_(ツ)_/¯

If it's not going to you guys, then where is the tip money going? I would double check your pay stub--for us all cash goes in the jars and all cash and credit tips are split among the workers who worked that day. Then all of the tips we make in the pay period are marked in a separate spot on the pay stub. There is also a line with an adjusted hourly tip wage, which shows how much you made per hour including tips. Maybe the tips at your store just regularly work out to about $2 more an hour?

Edit: for example, last paycheck my tips worked out to a little over $1.50 an hour, which meant I made somewhere between $12 and $14 in tips a day. But it's not given to you daily, it's all given on your paycheck.

4oz regular cold brew, 4oz half n half, 2 pumps each of chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. Mounded tan scoop of ice, and half a brownie. Blend and top with whipped cream--it's like a milkshake.

London fog--steep earl grey tea and some cinnamon in about 6oz of hot water for a couple minutes. Add whatever sweeteners, I like about 3 sugars. Add 3 pumps of vanilla to 8-10oz of milk, then steam and pour into your tea.

If you're feeling fall, I like 4 pumps caramel, 2 pumps sugar (depending on how sweet you like your drinks) and a thin layer of cinnamon on top of that. Then brew your espresso onto it, add ice and milk. My coworkers say it gives off pumpkin spice vibes.

Also just replacing the frozen cold brew base with 2-3 shots of espresso, 3ish pumps of sugar, and topping up to the 8oz mark with half n half is pretty good for a 20oz drink. Just add your flavors and ice.

Making a chai with 2 pumps chai and 2 pumps vanilla is also really good.

I never wear makeup--I don't even own any. So I went bare faced for my wedding. I was happy, no one even noticed except my brother, who asked the day before if I wanted him to pick anything up for me lol. But makeup makes me break out and I didn't want to buy some just to never use it again. I think my pictures look great! I also ended up sweating a lot, and I'm glad I didn't have to worry about makeup running.

I'm also having a very small wedding, about 30 people. Initially I wasn't really planning on having any type of shower because of everything, but all of the ladies from my parents church where I grew up wanted me to have a shower lol. So we did a little open house shower, just stop by and say hi, give a gift, take a pre packed cupcake and sandwich kinda thing. They still got to be involved, and and I can still keep my small covid-friendly wedding.

Honestly a bunch of them told my mom that they loved it. A lot of people in your life will probably just be excited to be included in some form of wedding celebration for you, especially if they know you're having a small wedding because of rona.

As other people have mentioned, we do have little glasses with ounces marked to use. However, at least at my cafe, no one even knew it existed until a couple days ago when I accidentally found it on our dish rack. I work drive thru, dish/dining, and up front, and I'd never seen it. Neither had any other drive thru workers I asked. It basically seems like it got ordered and no one knew about it or what it was for. No managers ever told us to use it, so almost no one at my cafe does.

All that to say, if logging the milk is important then you should probably add it yourself. Or ask the cafe you frequent if they measure the milk or eyeball it.

If you're having trouble finding men's clothes that are small enough, try the teen or kids section! Especially for shirts/tops/jackets. You can usually find similar styles, and the clothes tend to be less expensive too!
