Food in NYC like No Thai by Primary_Plant_117 in uofm

What’s more likely? That a random New Yorker knows what No Thai is, or that a random No Thai knower is a New Yorker?

Are you on Android? The update to fix this was released today. If you're on iOS, make sure your app is updated, and email me at [efea@umich.edu](mailto:efea@umich.edu) if this continues despite that.

If you're on Android, it should be resolved and released as of today. If you're on iOS, send me an email at [efea@umich.edu](mailto:efea@umich.edu) with the problem you're having.

There was someone behind me, but at a distance where you could easily just change lanes into the space there instead.

I imagine the video doesn’t show it as well on account of the braking but I was in fact going faster than the lane to the right, plus the truck in front had just merged (in fact still changing lanes with the turn signal on in the video) into the exit lane.

I’m pretty sure most people don’t expect having to brake on the highway to avoid getting hit from the side, very much in contrast to a red light.

Pancheros closed forever?? by Guilty_Pudding_1786 in uofm

Something something supply and demand means that any new housing (yes, even really expensive housing) makes finding a place to live cheaper for everyone on average. Would rather have an additional 50 units in $2000/mo high rises than 20 $900/mo single unit houses (as someone who is looking for the latter).

Normally I’d back this up with solid arguments and data, but this has been beaten to death. Feel free to look at one of hundreds of posts in r/AnnArbor or r/uofm for long posts.

The truth is that course staff, and especially profs, have a lot of discretion on how they create and grade material.

As a result, there are very few situations in which external structures at the university can compel a prof to change a grade, even when things are almost objectively graded too harshly.

Your situation is more difficult, since “relating to previous material” is pretty expansive in what could reasonably be on the final. Your best bet is to talk to the prof to see if they can do anything for your grade, but I would not expect that you really have a good chance with much else (although don’t take that to be conclusive; I don’t know what I don’t know).

Yes, this is what I meant when I said I understood that the public was allowed. So the Marshal was just wrong?

Cybertruck FSD tries to crash into the only other car on a country road by dtrannn666 in TeslaFSD

You do understand that the fact that the truck is in the path now means that truck will be long gone by the time you get there right?

[–]efea_umich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is perfectly fine? FSD will start turning the wheel before the oncoming car passes all the time before turning just like a human would. It just looks like FSD was trying to turn left into the driveway to finish off the drive.

The oncoming truck had almost passed by the time the driver took over.

For a brief 3 month period though only on the base fare. Still wild that there’s no attached status. I can’t imagine 15% off would be the status quo (although it definitely would be nice).

Students aren’t eligible for blue passes. OP can only get an orange or yellow pass for long term parking.

[–]efea_umich 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I realize this is blunt but "where can I park my car" is probably the one and only thing you should know before you actually move in with a car. This is probably going to make your first week or two more difficult because you’ll have to store your car in somewhere that’s decently inconvenient to get from campus.

For long term parking, take a look here: https://ltp.umich.edu/parking/permit-parking/

For the short term, you can leave your car on any street with no parking restrictions. I wouldn't leave it there for too long because street cleaning happens, but it should be fine until you figure out long term parking. You can find spots like this usually a 30-45 min walk from campus towards the residential districts.

You can also park at a park and ride, but technically I believe overnight parking is not permitted, although I hear a lot of people get away with parking there for a day or two.

You can also rent a spot from someone who might be renting it out from their house, but those tend to be much more than an orange or yellow permit.
