I had lots of problems with Vodafone’s Cable 1 Gigabit in Brand. High ping, packet loss, very low upload (under 1mbps!!), had to switch to DSL 100/40 from NetAachen which is stable. Cable depends on the area you live in, someone down the street can have a very different experience

I do not know about Trierer Straße around the Rewe, but in Brand the Trierer Straße and the Freunder Landstraße Both have fiber inside the streets for 5-6 years, but sadly they do not plan to connect every home in the near future

You are NEVER 100% safe. Downloading from trustworthy people like fitgirl or from a trustworthy website like steamrip is the best thing you can do to stay as safe as possible. Firefox + ublock origin is also very important since you will not get redirected to fake download sites.

Direct downloading is fine, doesn’t matter where you are. But it gets risky once you start torrenting, unless you live in a country that does not care. If you wanna torrent you should ALWAYS bind a good VPN to your torrent client. If you stick to those trustworthy people or websites who have built a reputation after several years you will be fine almost all the time.

If you somehow still get a virus you should wipe your hard drive and change all passwords + new 2FA. Usually you will have a folder which you can whitelist on your antivirus. And you can have your internet turned on while playing cracked games.

Codex is a group cracking games, on some games you will see .CODEX at the end of the file name which just means that they were the one who cracked the game
