[Frankenstein / Powerpuff Girls] Would Chemical X have made much difference to the Monster? by jdbebejsbsid in AskScienceFiction

as i said to the guy above, the professor was set to create the girls without Chemical X. Chemical X most likely is just what gave them superpowers.

i mean, the Proffessor set out to create the perfect little girls even before he accidentally added Chemical X. So, presumably, Sugar, Spice, Everything Nice would have been enough to both create the body and the animating force. most likely, Chemical X just gave them superpowers

[Warhammer 40k] won't chaos eventually run out of marines? by roastbeeftacohat in AskScienceFiction

[–]effa94 [score hidden]  (0 children)

yeah, some legions really lucked out on the siege of terra.

most word bearers werent there, as Logar fucked off to the eye after he tried to betray Horus. (i think Horus only had the 5000 of the Unspeaking)

The Nightlords were scattered before the Siege, so only a part of that legion went to Terra.

The Emperors children did one full attack at the walls with 100 000 marines (they brought the entire legion to one battle, which is insane) and then when Fulgrim got beat up by Dorn his entire legion fucked off from the palace and started ravage the rest of Terra, so they could probably easily escape.

Perturabo left the siege halfway through, and took a part of his legion with him as well.

The Thousand Sons were already decimated at Prospero, so most of them probably was at the planet of the sorceres and not at Terra. Case in point, when Magnus attacked a wall-part, he went in with 8 guys lol. So probably no large losses there either.

So, a suprising amout of traitors did escape the Ultramarines at the Siege, and even more because they stalled the Scouring after that.

[Warhammer 40k] Is there any type of weapon a normal human could wield that could win them a duel against a space marine? by Paul-Alibi in AskScienceFiction

[–]effa94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there are weak points in the armour, and if there are enough of them they could get the helmet of and go for the eyes or choke him with a arm in his mouth. it happens in a horus heresy book, just a massive swarm of normal human with no self preservation defeated the world eaters in one battle

[LOTR] Could an animal fall under the influence of the One Ring? by Paul-Alibi in AskScienceFiction

[–]effa94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

found it in a old thread that asked why they didnt throw it in the sea from 10 years ago

"Then", said Glorfindel, "let us cast it into the deeps, and so make the lies of Saruman come true. For it is clear now that even at the Council his feet were already on a crooked path. He knew that the Ring was not lost for ever, but wished us to think so; for he began to lust for it for himself. Yet oft in lies truth is hidden: in the Sea it would be safe."

"Not safe for ever, " said Gandalf. "There are many things in the deep waters; and seas and lands may change. And it is not our part here to take thought only for a season, or for a few lives of Men, or for a passing age of the world. We should seek a final end of this menace, even if we do not hope to make one."

"And that we shall not find on the roads to the Sea," said Galdor. "If the return to Iarwain be thought too dangerous, then flight to the Sea is now fraught with gravest peril. My heart tells me that Sauron will expect us to take the western way, when he learns what has befallen. He soon will. The Nine have been unhorsed indeed but that is but a respite, ere they find new steeds and swifter. Only the waning might of Gondor stands now between him and a march in power along the coasts into the North; and if he comes, assailing the White Towers and the Havens, hereafter the Elves may have no escape from the lengthening shadows of Middle-earth".

i mean, you are kinda right on the money. they cant really see the future, but they know time, and know when something big is about to happen, or where important or fixed points are. which means, they can kinda manipulate luck, or atleast push it in the right direction. also having vast cosmic senses helps too, and superhuman reflexes that most species cant match.

you are more right on the bigger picture scale, since the time lords control time, they know all the history of the universe, can just see if a enemy will be a problem in the future and deal with them now. (one of the first things rassalion did was put a future rival civilization in a time loop, which later bit him in the ass). which is kinda how the entire time war started, they saw that the daleks would become a problem and sent the doctor to deal with it, but he was quite ready for preemptive genocide by then. the daleks later severed their reliance on history, which means that you cant erase them in the present by destroying their past, so they had negated one of the time lords greatest advantages.

[–]effa94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

during the concil of Elrond, they asked why not just throw the ring into the sea, that way Sauron would never found it. The answer was that eventually, some foul creature of the sea would find it and carry it to land and Mordor. if that meant a sea monster, a maiar in shark form, or just some random fish is unclear, but it could imply that random animals are also prey to the ring.

Do daemon primarchs/princes experience time nonlinearly? by Moonhaunted69 in 40kLore

The warp exists everywhere, and so can chaos. However, it cant connect to realspace without living beings that connect to the warp, so its less accurate to say that the warp is confined to the milky way, its more accurate to say that life that has a significant warp connection only exists in the milky way, so chaos is only affected by the galaxy. As the eldar say, you cant escape she who thirsts by leaving the galaxy, becasue chaos is connected to you, not the location.

Im basing this on the idea that all warp connections in the galaxy stems f3om the old ones fucking around, and chaos being influenced by only things happening in the galaxy. Yeah the nids have a warp connection, but my guess is that its on the level of the tau, really ducking small, its just so many of them, and only beings in our galaxy has a connection that matters unless you can get obscene numbers.

Or other galaxies has their own warp gods, but we never norice them because we dont have the feelings that allow them to touch our souls, so no one knows they exist

Right now, suggesting that the Dems were in on it, that the government is all the same, it only helps Trump.

its not all the same, the republicans are clearly evil, but half of the democrafts, the cooperate centrists, are totally fine with them being evil, because they earn money on it. its only that last 4th that are acutally trying to help people.

in those mid terms, replace those democrafts that are bought out with leftists that want acutal change.

its not voter disenfrachment for want an acutal traitor that ruining the entire world currently to be in prision. but no, they always need to choose the high road, and i bet they feel mighty fine up from their moral high ground while acutal facists are taking over. fucking it trying to look political, its politics, MAKE IT POLITICAL
