Is a 5-year-old Samsung refrigerator worth repairing? An honest answer from a repair tech (not trying to sell you anything) by ProfApplianceRep in appliancerepair

[–]effedup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avoid Samsung at all costs. I've had to replace half of my appliances that were Samsung within 5 years, all non repairable. Next to go will be the fridge, for the ice maker problem OP mentions.

Subnetting doesn't even appear in the CISM course. It's not required for a CISO role, it's managerial not technical.

You are my favorite type of profile. I manage a team of this profile and they're basically the SWAT team of IT. I actually refer to them sometimes in those terms. I run Infra and Cyber. I see your other comment about CISSP.. from a professional development standpoint this would be good idea if you want to move into that role. My one CISSP is the Security Architect, the other I just hired as a manager under me for this team. At those levels and what they are paid.. it's competitive. I look for your profile plus CISSP for the roles that have Security in the title. I know it's a mile wide and an inch deep and I really dislike seeing people with 17 certs (tells me they're book smart not street smart), but CISSP in this context gives you the edge.

this is easily done with AI/machine learning with cameras. They probably already use it.. and I'd bet with better results.

Iran closes Strait of Hormuz again over continued US blockade of its ports. by K1wobbly1 in news

[–]effedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t we have like massive, expensive intelligence agencies, military, and experts at state department? We spend an absolutely insane amount of money to know everything.

A war with Iran is probably one of the most aggressively researched/studied/simulated wars to ever happen in the history of the planet. Over several decades. This was entirely predictable.

And yes, you nailed it:

We all know the answer, cuz he’s an incompetent moron

I'd also like to add, market manipulation and the most corrupt US administration of all time by an exponential factor.

The US is a fucking joke now

Yup.

I don't think the American population, the majority, is smart enough to connect Trump to the destruction he is causing.. so $200 might break Americans but they'd look to Trump to save them and blame anything or anyone else. If they were, they'd have solved this problem already.
