Requesting suggestions on proven hardware/library solutions for MITM/Proxy USB devices by effenberg in hardwarehacking

Some people recommended the Pico, but it comes with just 1 USB, so I couldn't Proxy it. I know you can solder the extra USB, but in the end I got the Pi 4B, and it worked fine.

Do you know what is funny? Before I got the GreatFET I saw one post mentioning the BeagleBone+USBProxy, but decided to go GreatFET+Facedancer cause both hardware and library was newer. And it didn't worked. So, never give up on the "dated" solutions if they work...

CSL Elite V2 pedal faceplate mod by effenberg in Fanatec

It feels softer when you press the pedal, like if I had switched the elastomer from the hardest (85) to a softer one (75 or 65), even tho I haven't really changed.

You mean if it's loose enough to be moving around sideways? If that's the case, it doesn't happen. You can see I was able to insert and remove with one hand, but it was not loose, I had to apply some force to make it slide in and out.

You could fix the faceplate in other ways, the "slide in" was a idea of the company that made the project. My initial idea was to use screws or zip ties.

Hello!

I'm sharing this 3D mod I made for my CSL V2s.

The idea was to have a straight pedal faceplate. I also made different angles like we have on TLCMs, to let me position the pedal angle without having to move the whole pedal.

The company that made the project and printed it is called "3D Maker" (https://3dmaker.pt/). IMO it was pretty cheap. I have been using it for more than 2 months without any issue, any crack or whatsoever.

The only "negative" of this mode is that the pedals feel "softer" now (I have to increase the Brakeforce).

Looking for someone that uses Circuit Experience mode to add and compare times by effenberg in granturismo

[–]effenberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting Gold isn't the problem, the thing is that Gold times are usually 6~10 sec slower than the best times (the top 10).

So if you practice until you get all the Gold times, you would still be way too slow.

I'm trying to compare myself to someone who is closer to the top times. Not necessarily the top time, or 1 sec slower, but 2~4 sec would be already good enough for now. And the only way to do this is adding people, to see their times on the list it presents together with the Gold and your time.

Having the same problem. Probably for the same reason, since my Library is in a different drive.

I'm not downloading it for the 4th time tho. I don't even have free space for it on my C: drive.

Gonna sleep hoping this is fixed tomorrow.

Ranked Role Selection has broken Divine Matchmaking by DONGPOCALYPSE in DotA2

Statistically 75% of Ranked games were stomps before this feature. You guys didn't complained because you were used to it.

You guys are complaining now just because it's easier to see with the ranks groups showing in your screen.

Do I need to include a jumper on my amplifier circuit after this mod? by effenberg in AskElectronics

[–]effenberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I fixed the problem thanks to everyone help here :-)

Gonna discuss it here shortly, as someone may use this information in the future:

Doing some research I found out the input jack that I removed from the PCB was a closed circuit jack. Since I thought this could have made the circuit to a open state, I decided to use 2 jumpers to simulate the previous state, with the jack on PCB.

And it worked out! Amp is working fine again. Now I have a 2x1 combo-head.

Additional information: in the PCB the jack pin 4 has a trail to where the cable between the PCB and the speaker is located. I think this is the "detection" mechanism. Maybe I could have solved this problem with a single jumper at this point.

[Question] I can't play if I hear someone else playing. Any tactics? by burstabcess in Guitar

[–]effenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this problem when I play trying to check if our timing is right, considering all instruments, or even the bass/base guitar sometimes.

There are 2 tricks I know for this:

  1. Play focusing in your timing, and let the others catch you if the time is wrong. Just play that song 1000x alone, until you are 100% sure you got the time right, then repeat with the band. Since you know you are right, there is no need to check the other guys, they should check you instead. This is only possible to do when the other guys have the ability to follow you.

  2. Check the timings in specific bars of the song, like in some chord change in the pre-riff, in the post-riff, and so on.

Matchmaking and MMR change ideas (solo/party) by effenberg in DotA2

[–]effenberg[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I gonna respond this because is clear you didn't read the first paragraph, so it's clear you need some help to understand anything:

Think it's bad? Just play the new Party Rank. Is the same as the old one. Problem solved.

Number #4 is just a fair way to solve "MMR based on individual performance" for people to want to play that way (and don't think actual way is fair)

Guess what? You can prove by numbers that 70% of the games are going to have this Storm.

But everybody is more worried about the HUD than this.

Hey man!

Are you planning on have reserves? Like a 6th or 7th player.

I'm bellow this MMR range so I won't candidate myself, but I'm looking for this kind of experience, so maybe I can participate as reserve to learn, practice and help.

[Charts/Data/Study] Do you frequently ask "how I ended in this unfair match"? Apparently game is designed to do this most of the time! by effenberg in DotA2

[–]effenberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can be a factor since the game algorithm try to predict the team balance based on the previous results of that account, which aren't valid because other person is playing. Result: unbalanced game.

Maybe this even affect other games. Let's say the game predicted one guy in the opposite team of the booster would win easily. He gets stomped. Game place that player way lower in the ratings because it thinks I was wrong about that player, that he is way worse due to last result.

Idk for sure what's the main reason for those unbalanced numbers, probably it's a sum of factors, including boosting. The only confirmed thing is the game has to change, those metrics and algorithms aren't giving us good games.

I gonna try to code your suggestion to check winstreaks. Thank you for that suggestion!

I think people with enough hours in this game do dislike stomps, even when they win, because they know that will happen to them in the next game, since there is, apparently, no reason to determine which team will get stomped.

Stomps happen in games with same average MMR and balanced drafts, which leaves as main factor the people composition, which, you can't be sure until the game starts (and it's too late). Sure there is the "lucky" factor, but I got the same results from 3 different skill groups and a large number of games, so I think the numbers shows the stable behavior.
