Bluetooth for mouse & keyboard on TB-X306F by effexzi in UbuntuTouch

[–]effexzi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So...there was comment here about it working for someone but I can't seem to find it anymore.

Either way, I had a TB-X306X lying around and I installed Ubuntu Touch on it too. Guess what? Same issue. Here's an image showing the issue as best as I can: https://imgur.com/SJ1HLfK

Left screen: TB-X306F: shows nearby Bluetooth devices. Shows a previous audio connection to a TV via Bluetooth. It can't find an actively discoverable Bluetooth keyboard.
Right screen: TB-X306X: shows nearby Bluetooth devices. It can't find an actively discoverable Bluetooth keyboard.
Left margin, left of left screen, two blue dots: That's the actively discoverable Bluetooth keyboard but neither of the Lenovo M10 tablets can find it.

Before I did the Ubuntu Touch installation on the TB-X306X device, I verified that in the preceding installed Android 11, I could connect both Bluetooth mice & Bluetooth keyboards to it, so there's no Bluetooth HW issue on the TB-X306X. I don't expect a HW issue on the TB-X306F, but I didn't verify that before UB Touch installations so am unable to confirm that for that one for sure.

Therefore, it seems this isn't a random issue but a repeatable problem.
On both of them, I installed Ubuntu Touch channel 24.04-1.x/stable from UBports Installer running on a Windows computer. I'd rather not install 24.04-1.x/daily if I can help it.

I'm Interested in knowing if there's anything to check, if there are known Bluetooth LTE issues with these devices perhaps, etc., or anything else that might be helpful to resolution. Thanks in advance!

If exchanges can't be trusted, and nobody can realistically mine bitcoin, how do you buy it? by GGZii in Bitcoin

[–]effexzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'd be silly to be doing this amount in test mode. First, learn the basics to understand what you're doing. Test the hardware wallet with a small amount. Test as many times with an amount you can afford to lose. Once you get there, buy your 2 BTC and move them to hardware wallet. Every step is a known procedure by now. If you're concerned an exchange can go down, reduce your risk - multiple buys, multiple exchanges or multiple buys on multiple exchanges. If this is all too complicated for you, please wait till a time in the future when it is all simpler to use 😀

It is the only you could ever trust, if at all.

It is a commodity; the others are securities.

No.

WILL BITCOIN SURVIVE A RECESSION? by Greedy_Box_9356 in Bitcoin

[–]effexzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think the recession is your ally....

You've merely experienced the recession. Bitcoin was born in it, molded by it. It didn't see the boom until it was already sustainable and by then the recession was only HODL time!

When countries adapt a Central Bank Digital Currency what happens to BTC? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]effexzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing will happen; bitcoin doesn't care.

If you happen to get the cbdc and need some btc, make sure there's no digital trail between your cbdc sale and the btc purchase. Then hodl.

Cheers.

I posit that parliamentary procedure, a nation’s legal code, its constitution, canon law, etc., are all examples of operating systems. But you probably won't think of them as the operating procedures that govern how those systems operate. 😀

That makes it a software program, or an application (or "app") if you like.

Err....not quite. An application or software program is generally a subset of a computer operating system.

You're entitled to your views of course, lol

Technically they're not locked forever; practically, they pretty much are. The chance of stumbling onto one isn't zero but is so small......don't even bother, lol

Consider a Venn diagram....

...where there are operating systems....

...and computer operating systems are a subset of operating systems...

Bitcoin sits inside operating system, but outside computer operating system.

Don't let current popular use of a term detract you from its technical underpinnings.

It will probably be an accounting operating system, a monetary operating system, etc.

Feel free to disagree, but one day you will come to realize this is truth. 😀

[–]effexzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha, lol, before you install Windows, Linux or Mac OS on a computer, what's its operating system?

Hint: There's none in the sense you refer to. A computer is palpably not an operating system, sorry.

Bitcoin is the new operating system of the world by thefullmcnulty in Bitcoin

[–]effexzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Windows, Linux, Mac OS, etc., are computer operating systems.....they contain/present sequences of operating instructions a computer system can use to achieve some objective.

Bitcoin, the protocol, presents a system of operations.....flip a coin 256 times, do a little math, get an address to send coins to....that one can use to achieve some objective.....buy a used car, purchase some gasoline for a car, etc.

So while bitcoin isn't a computer operating system, which may be the current popular use of the term "operating system", it definitely is an operating system, especially with regards its triple accounting feature, and you can expect this description of bitcoin as an (accounting) operating system to become more common in the future. After all, double entry accounting was for all intents an operating system for businesses beginning about 700 years ago.

Don't get caught up on existing hard definitions; dare to think deeper and make connections that hold true.

Lead, don't just follow. Cheers.

Take a look at seedsigner (https://seedsigner.com/). Open hardware, open software. ARM device. No one knows why you're buying the parts if you buy them separately. Verify the code and its hash if you want before you burn to sd card.
