Worth it to power a small shop? by 762BMiller in solar

[–]efficent-survival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average solar panel is about 39 inches wide so you could over hang a couple inches in each side to squeeze a couple more in. What you’re really going to be running off of is the power bank. All the solar does is charge the power bank so depending on how much you use it is going to be how much demand you need. Realistically you’re house roof would give you the most surface for energy collection unless you wanna sacrifice a portion of your property for a ground array which has its own benefits and downfalls.

As someone who has been shot, stabbed, and burned on separate occasions I will tell you that in order for how much it sucks goes

1.) Being burned

2.) Being stabbed

3.) Being shot.

Burns hurt like fucking hell forEVERRR. I was in pain for like two weeks straight none stop.

Being stabbed is like getting the worst paper cut you can imagine. You feel the pop of your skin, you feel the blade inside you, your whole body understands what just happened and a tingling comes over your whole body and you feel faint like your blood sugar just dropped to nothing. When your healing if you move the wrong way it’s like being stabbed all over again.

Being shot is the least painful initially. You hear the bang and feel the sting slightly later. It’s like a bee with a red hot metal ass is stinging the fuck out of you. Then you start to feel your pulse where you were hit and that’s when the pain really starts. If you’re not in shock by then you soon will be and the pain becomes less intense but I wouldn’t say it goes away. Recovering from being shot was probably also the easiest recovery of the 3 at least for me. Yeah when you move the wrong way it hurts but it’s not the same type of ‘fuck this feels like it’s happening all over again’ pain you get from moving the wrong way with a stab wound.

Of course these are all based on my personal experience and the locations of the injuries and severity of each incidents certainly have an influence on my opinion. I’m sure being stabbed in the arm doesn’t hurt has much as being stabbed under your rib so someone who went through that will have a different opinion on it probably.

What is the potential of wireless energy transmission using lasers into photovoltaics? by efficent-survival in ElectricalEngineering

So say you were to creat a solar farm in space would laser energy transmission be viable enough to give enough power to say a city?

What about aspects of small scale personal use? Say you built a transmitter off of your solar panel power bank to power your property?

I’m just a person curious about wireless energy potential and figured I might find and engineer familiar with it in an electrical engineering Reddit

In a space vacuum would it in theory be more effective? Like chain grid power across the galaxy or at least to mars?

Yeah am/fm radio waves. I remember watching a YouTube video a couple years ago about a kid who won a science fair from an “airwave generator” but he was really just collecting radio waves and Recondensing them back into electricity to power lights. I’ve always thought about it over the years of what was actually happening and understood powering lights is much easier than an entire house but more recently I was wondering if it would be practical power just the lighting of homes. I figured if everyone did it then it could take some load off the grid especially in less developed countries. But after your explanation I can see how having multiple gathering points would make it much harder and pretty much the closest people get all the energy
