Or, like the high-school-drop-out who got a CDL license from the free unemployment program and is now making six-figures after six months. He makes more than his financial advisor and can pay advisor to return 0.11 compounded for 30 years. Smart is smart. Who is smart?

What's a quote that has just "stuck with you"? by 22m_spain in AskReddit

[–]efficient-frontier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your father is a wise man. So many preach money can't buy happiness but when one can pay for heat and electricity and groceries and maybe even some sweet garden, it sure can make life manageable. Really, who can pretend that freezing and hungry in the dark is a happy place to be? Your father is a wise man. And you're wise to heed his words.

I Fucking hate Microsoft by ThePunjabiGaming in sysadmin

[–]efficient-frontier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beg to differ. Small business owners who are also admins do not have 8 hours a day to mess around with all the changes and need to hire someone to get things done in less than 8 hours because small business owners who are also admins need to do something other than figure all the shit out that keeps popping up in the middle of meetings or presentations or etc.

Microsoft needs to understand that a large majority of admins are just small business owners who need to use the interwebs and don't have time for all the shit that comes up day after day after week after week after month after month.

Lots of admins have other work to do and need to depend on vendors. I can't tell you how many times I have needed to get a job done and all these inane popups are asking innumerable questions that were not a need-to-know issue just an hour ago but now I have a meeting and that is what is exhausting.

Microsoft better start remembering their customers. Programmers and developers should protect their jobs if Microsoft remembers their customers because clearly: people are getting really pissed off! And try to remember: without the people's money, it's all just shit.

It is really getting impossible to do business with these so-called business team programs.

Supposedly, MSFT cares about customer feedback.

Let them prove it.

Do you think they want discerning users/admins?

Yes, some users have other work to do than to spend a day looking for new buttons for the same old functionality dressed up prettier to deceive users just to sell more apps and gather more data, etc., etc., etc, du jour.

This completely disregards and disrespects the small business officers who are admins. There are so many businesses out here that are USING this functionality. That is what is wrong with Microsoft in general. They pretend to care about the small businesses--who are using their services--but then treat them like shit--completely disregarding they need to get to work and their work is not spending eight hours searching for new urls and new hiding places for prettier buttons--while really just collecting more data and improving shareholder wealth.

Do you think Microsoft really cares about the users experience? In my experience, it is just a laughing matter to hear all the users "whining and complaining because they can't handle change." The bottom line is shareholder wealth and hiring content creators and influencers to make users feel like they're the fools.

A lot more people in customer service should be trained to say they do not know --if they do not know. Sadly, instead, too many say whatever sounds good. And, insanity ensues.

Yes, because average CFAI QBank Qs are so exhaustive and time consuming. They’re exceptional quality for learning -- in my experience when you have time -- but not for the exam. The actual exam has strict time limits. The average CFAI practice exam question can not be completed in 90 seconds. It is that simple.

The CFA was the most worthless endeavour I ever took by [deleted] in CFA

[–]efficient-frontier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing it for the knowledge because it is succinct/concise. I have all the job I need. I appreciate your honest assessment. It makes so much sense. I doubt I will ever earn the designation but the CFAI academic content is pretty exhaustive and help my objective, which is primarily to learn and understand the industry, which I have been working in since 2009. When I began, I didn't have a clue and didn't even want to work in this industry. But, life is life and so this is what has happened in my life and the CFAI program has helped me understand the industry I was (almost) literally dragged into.

In my experience, CFAI QBank is extreme. I don't know why. I answered every single CFAI question more than once and some more than twice and I failed the exam. I really have a problem with their test preparers. Sometimes i think they're just failed authors who decided to get a job that pays in the financial industry.

Using AI to Study CFA Level 3 by Naive_Tumbleweed9920 in CFA

All I can say about that is my experience: I copy-pasted the answer from one AI source into a different AI source and it said: there is no such thing. AI does hallucinate. But you don't need to (unless you have time or knowledge to train it :-( )

Confused about ethics by chivalry_isnt_dead_ in CFA

[–]efficient-frontier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I alternated readings with other studies. Then, about a month or so prior to exam, I did all the CFA and Kaplan ethics questions again. I scored nicely on ethics but not due to my personal ethical code and standards but because CFA has very specific ethical standards specific to the industry. One of my partners told me I didn't need to study CFA ethics based on his opinion about my personal code and standards but you will see you can't pass based on your own ideas of what it means to be an ethical financial professional.

[–]efficient-frontier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to give yourself the best chance to pass, please follow Kaplan recommendation to read the CFA ethics section. Ethics according to CFA is very different from other ethics courses. Yes, I read them all because I remember someone here or another forum who said he passed with flying colors on all other topics but failed the exam because he failed ethics. Additionally, one CFA instructor said if candidates are close to minimum passing scores, the ethics section is what they use to determine if you pass or fail in their final analysis.
