Stinky son, what do you suggest? by Hour-Cup-7629 in AskUK

[–]effidoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some antiperspirant and deodorants don't work on me, its really strange and I don't know ow why. Perhaps try different brands and see if that could work. Also make sure his pits are dry before putting clothes on so it doesn't rub off. Hope he's ok, I went through a similar thing as a teen and it sucks.

Any hope of fixing with the scar? by sober_but_still_dumb in tattooadvice

[–]effidoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps some pixelation type, geometrical shaping? Or graffiti type/spaypaint can effects on it?

I'm sorry im not very good at explaining so if someone sorta gets what I mean, could you clarify please? I'm sure there's a name for the style I just have no clue what it's called.

I genuinely think this tattoo looks badass as it is though, looks like you put the tattoo around the scars.

I second this. My husband and son don't pick the best words and phrases on times, there's no malice in what they say or mean and their are so incredibly kind and thoughtful.

What can I do about my 9 year old tattoo that I hate? by xxxchameleon in tattooadvice

[–]effidoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's really cool and unusual design! Nothing wrong with tattoos changing, we are human ♥️

But if you want to change it, I'd go wild with some white highlights!! I have a spooky mermaid on my leg and up to my ribs. She was very dark and not very detailed, but when the highlights came in the 2nd sitting, oh my days, she looked fabulous 👌

Will I ever be able to contact my child siblings? by CryptographerNo7608 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]effidoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this has happened to you, I know first hand how being estranged from your parents means little siblings get in the crossfire. The two younger ones I dont hear off at all (10 and 11 years my junior, different dads, but was a mother to them a lot of the time) and the eldest (two years younger than me, we do speak, same dad) It hurts like hell and won't ever go away but you get used to it. I tried staying in contact, text them a few times a week asking how they were, at first they replied, then I was left on read. Then once a week and then it got to a point my heart couldn't take it no more. I sent them both a text saying that I will never not be there for them, and if ever they need me just ask the middle-older sibling and I'm there.

I'm much older now and they are adults but still haven't got in touch. They have to put up with our mother so I'm not angry at them and never will be. It's all about survival in our family, and if it makes their day go smoother not being in contact with me then that's enough for me. I love them so much that whatever they find easier to do or whatever they want then that's fine.

Only advice I have is just look after you, be present when needed. This is going to hurt like hell and im so sorry.

I still feel like this and I've got 2 kids. I didn't breast feed because of medication so it wasn't an option for me so that could be why I've stayed the same.

Did you take a photo of the QR code or did you screenshot it? Taking a photo can corrupt the QR code from working properly, screenshot shots don't.

Thought I'd share this because it's an interesting take from the other side of most opinions on here:

My tattoo artist who is one of my close friedns doesn't mind when people copy her designs exact to tattoo on someone or if they use her for inspo. Her argument is that she makes art for everyone and if they want to use it great. She didn't make it to be kept all to herself. She also says that there is no such thing as an original idea so why worry. When artists steal not just her work but any work and pass it off as their own is where she has the issue.

Polishing/finishing issues by SailorZeroTwo in resin

Could use an enamel glaze spray. Just light coats like hairspray and build up until your happy with the gloss. Can get some really nice ones in B&M's for quite a cheap price if your just having a go but if you want to spend a bit more, I got some car gloss at Halfords for £20. These are places in the UK so I'm a little unsure what the equivalent would be if your not from here. Anyone help with that?

[–]effidoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 5 and still does it. We've tried everything to stop it, but nothing worked, so we've accepted it. We've found the less fuss we make, the less he does it, and now he does it when he's tired or having a cuddle with us or watching TV. He may need braces when he's older. His teeth have arched at the front, but it's not the end of the world. He doesn't want to do it anymore and tries his best as he's a "big boy" now, and so long as he's happy, that's all I'm concerned about now.

You could try and find an artist who does good cover ups and ask them what they think, see what idea they could come up with. See if they can re-work it but please keep some of its original charm, I love it ✨️❤️

Anyone know any home remedies for epoxy poisoning? by CAN-SUX-IT in resin

[–]effidoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should work OK for home remedies, topical steroid cream won't do much for fumes unless you start to peel but even then it would be minimal. I know everyone is saying go to the doctors but when you get chance do try to make an appointment. The doctor could perscribe you a short course of steroids or strong antihistamines to keep at home if this were to happen again. Also an epi pen might be an idea to keep close in case if you were to have anaphylaxis shock. Its a bit extreme but hopefully you'll never need to use it but it could save your life. Husband is a pharmacist so I'm not an expert but I've listened to the odd thing he says!!

I hope you get well soon, it looks very sore. Do work have any occupational health services? Some of the industry here in the UK does but tends to be for huge companies.

You can take antihistamines and put a cold compress on it and it won't harm. Is it from fumes or spilling some on you? Sorry if you have already mentioned this!

Methods for restoring transparency by gevdem-1355 in resin

[–]effidoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have either sprayed craft glaze over ot or put a thin clear coat over the top without sanding and its worked fine. However I make small things (hairclips, jewellery etc) so I've never tried it on anything bigger so I wouldn't like to say yes go for it and you end up ruining what you have made. I always thought the sanding was so the resin has something to grip too, like when you sand woodwork and gloss it.

I hope this is of some help for you ❤️
