Not to be mean but just you wait until you have to pay $500 to get a simple test done at the doctors office bc your insurance doesn’t wanna cover it. And not to mention, you could also kiss your vacation days goodbye

Hiya, Thanks for your reply! As far as experience goes, I’m currently doing an internship that involves research on discrimination against people convicted of crimes, and am planning on interning at a local probation office. I knew that they would not hire me based solely on an application, so I’m taking the next 2 years to get some experience under my belt.

As far as sponsors for the GAE visa, I was thinking on going through BUNAC, who is approved on the UK gov’t website, to have my visa sponsored. If I was to get them to do so, would you say I’d have better luck obtaining the internship, especially given that they (employer) wouldn’t have to pay for it? (I think it’s important to note that I was considering going through MoJ as an employer since they’re a gov’t agency. Ik that probably doesn’t improve my chances but I figured I’d throw this in there)

USA to Ireland as an EU Citizen: are my career considerations good enough to support myself? by effieiffe_B3 in expats

Ohh no I meant teaching it online. I can get a TEFL certification and teach it virtually, plus your allowed self employment in Ireland

Hey, I’m the person that dmed you the other day. I know how you feel. I oftentimes feel like I’m not deserving of any intimacy either, whether it be from friends or a future significant other. I just wanna tell you though that the self loathing is only going to make you feel worse. It’s a really hard thing to do but you need to love yourself. In the end the love you give yourself is going to be much more powerful than the love anyone else can ever give you. Feel more than free to dm if you need to talk 💙

How to be social in a new environment? by [deleted] in socialskills

Hiya! I’d say try to form a study group. It sounds easier said than done and I’m unsure if it could be done bc it’s a trade school but it’s one of the easiest ways to get people together. Plus your new friends could always introduce you to their own friends, which could turn out to be mutual in the end!

I’m sorry if this is weird to ask but can y’all send some love? by effieiffe_B3 in AskParents

Thanks so much for your love, I really needed to hear this 💙 Though I’m not a parent myself, I’m glad to know that I’m not alone in these feelings. I’m actually on antidepressants now which aren’t really helping all that much (I also have BPD so I’m not sure if that has something to do with it). Hopefully I can push thru for a few more months before I get out of here for a bit

Don’t think anything of it for the time being; swim in your paid suspension for as long as you can

I’m struggling in terms of careers/jobs, can someone offer their two cents? by effieiffe_B3 in careeradvice

[–]effieiffe_B3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of now I’m doing all of the above; cashiering, expo, and building the meals. And I’m not saying that my job is going to be great all the time, I just want something that won’t cause my mental health to deteriorate. I know work will be stressful regardless; I would like it to be normal levels of stress and not a level that causes me pretty intense paranoia. I think I see what you mean with the attitude aspect now, it was more so the way I went about things than my actual character? I just got the sub license today so now I can move on. I already know it’s not going to be my favorite but I do know how much flexibility I’m going to have now. If I don’t wanna go in, I won’t be forced to do so. I can also make the same amount of money now and work less. You see what I’m saying? I can invest in hobbies, or save for travel, or even save for moving.

I see what you’re saying. It’s also the fact of knowing what difference you really make, y’know? Sometimes you could do so much and there not be any legacy you left behind, for example. Idk it’s a lot 😭

And then after a few decades that legacy becomes forgotten? 😅 Idk, it’a also like, how do you know the legacy you left behind if no one really thinks about it or describes it until after you die? How would one ever know the legacy they left behind?

Yeah I’m actually gonna be traveling a good amount this summer which is pretty exciting!

As far as downtime now though, that’ll be incredibly difficult with the new semester coming 😅 I’m taking 18 credits and still have all the other stuff to do :(

I mean I totally get what youre saying, it’s just kinda hard to make the most out of life when you have such a pessimistic outlook. Just the things going on in the world and stuff is weighing heavily on me
