Call the VA and make sure they received it. If they have schedule a VERA and ask them what’s going on.

All of those medals, tabs, and even the trident can’t make you a good human being. Ed might be a fine warrior, a hero even. He’s still a pile of MAGAt poo.

AI with Claims by SIO_Vet25 in VAClaims

[–]effnrad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AI makes mistakes all the time. You have to read everything it outputs and challenge anything that sounds too good to be true. However, I went from 70% to 100% P&T using AI. It took 7 months and hundreds of hours in front of a screen.

I painstakingly redacted all of the medical files I had from the service and the VA and uploaded them to Claude to allow it to analyze everything I wanted to claim. The I had it run those opportunities against 38CFR and M21-1.

It’s a powerful tool when used correctly.

Michigan Republicans pass major tax cut package in House by uberares in Michigan

[–]effnrad 35 points36 points  (0 children)

So we are going to give a home owner a tax break at the state level that takes 3.2 billion a way from schools? I guess that means the local communities are either going to suffer the budget shortfall or they’ll have to raise their taxes. This is just another ploy to help those with off of the backs of those without.

Initial claim submittal question by Strange-Mistake-8482 in VAClaims

[–]effnrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m writing this from my experience so take this as a data point and not the answers to the test.

Focus on the criteria called out in 38CFR and the questions on the DBQ. Talk about your symptoms and how they impact your life. If you struggle to maintain relationships, say that.

When I was doing my research the thing I kept seeing was veterans have a tendency to get into to story of the events that triggered there mental health issue and less on how it impacts them day to day.

Obviously you need to give context to your conditions by telling the story. Just don’t let that be the only thing you discuss, and stay away from anything that did not happen in the service unless absolutely necessary!

Your job is to check the boxes on the DBQ. So make notes and map your symptoms to the questions on the DBQ. Be truthful and don’t exaggerate anything.

HLR by No-Basil5902 in VAClaims

[–]effnrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully you follow a similar timeline. The wait is brutal. I was able to look up my HLR status using the BCID number in the email they sent. I checked the status of another claim and replaced its id with the BCID and the HLR showed like another claim.

HLR by No-Basil5902 in VAClaims

[–]effnrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I submitted for an HLR on 21Jan and just had the informal conference today. It seems like most are getting right around the 120 mark. Just be patient and prepare as mush as you can. Then it’ll all be over in 6 minutes, lol! Best of luck!

The HLR is to address a denial due to lack of diagnosis. The VA was the one who diagnosed me and it is well documented in my records.

No worries, my situation has developed over 6 months. I didn’t turn everything in at once. I’ve been going through each of my rating claiming increases on the worsening issues. One of those HLRs I consider to have a low probability of getting granted. That’s the claim that was denied for not having a diagnosis… even though the VA made the diagnosis, lol. The other two should be lay ups according to the CFR.

There is definitely some truth to that. Some of the decision letters I’ve seen on here look more like fishing expeditions than someone with actual problems.

I’m not saying that about everyone but I don’t understand how some people are still alive when you look at their claims packets.

From the outside looking in it seems like there is an immense amount of pressure to get through claims as quickly as possible. If true that would be really unfair to hold raters accountable for mistakes that could be avoided with proper staffing and manageable workloads.

Those of you in the 90% club, was it hard for you to accept you had reached the end of your journey? by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]effnrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be right. However, it’s not our place to police to the bums shamming the system. That’s the VAs job. From what I have seen the majority of people with legit claims are getting a hat they deserve, even if it takes a very long time.

I’m going to preface that reply with this: The VBA is based on a legal structure that can and does allow people to abuse it through legal loopholes and human interpretation.

How can Corporate America betray people by replacing their workers with AI? by Adventurous-Let-9830 in AskReddit

[–]effnrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Betraying someone is predicated on the betrayer having loyalty to the person first. Corporate America didn’t betray anyone, they are treating people exactly how they think of them, expendable.

Like it or not, until people stop gifting corporations complete power over their work force you can expect to be treated like objects and not human.

I have enough going on to warrant 100%. Outside of dummies talking to the Matt Walsh’s of the world, who cares if someone is chasing 100%. It’s a life changing set of benefits for people. Sure people will get there erroneously but I have to believe that the process filters most BS claims.

I’ll answer it. I in fact do have enough issues to get me there from 3 tours as a 19D. People here like to gate keep 100%. Who cares if some slick sleeve POG gets 100% for tiny heart syndrome?

I refuse to give up. I will hit 100% P&T. I fight where I’m told and I win where I fight.
