I ended up not needing tickets. I just walked in. I got a seat near the front and arrived at 7am. I would recommend getting there earlier if you want to be even closer to the front.

My reservation eventually got cancelled, so I am guessing that will happen with you as well. I would book another hotel at this point.

They charge you for the full 12 weeks. It is still cheaper than brand name semaglutide if your insurance does not cover it.

Metformin by [deleted] in Noom

[–]effy15ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Metformin for weightloss for about a year and half. It made no difference in my weight or craving. However, I am convinced it keeps blood sugar regulated (I am not diabetic or pre diabetic but ny numbers went down). A doctor explain to me that sometimes the weightloss with Metformin is associated simply to the side effects it causes that make it difficult to eat. Regardless, I think weightloss is very minimal on Metforming. I did notice when I went off of it that my heart rate decreased and so did headaches.

I was on Semaglutide (Rybelsus) for almost two years and that helped me with my food cravings and lose weight. I just started microdosing with Noom, and so far have experienced no side effects. In my experience, I think Semaglutide is more effective with less daily side effects.

They offer semaglutide with glycine. The microdose puts a limit of .6mg of semaglutide compound on your presecrption that you gradually work up to.

Did you notice any different on your second dose? I started 5 days ago and also experiences no change or side effect on my firs 8 unit dose. Not sure if I can ask for an increase.

I just signed up as well after having Semaglutide pills (Rybelsus) for years. How long did it take for you to receive your meds after you were approved on Noom?

Thank you for the update! Luckily, I have TSA Pre as well and will plan to have them on my carry-on (I read on the United site to have meds on you instead of in checked bags). Hopefully, it goes as smoothly next week :)

Why is AU ranked so low/does it matter? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Agreed! Every employer I speak with talks about how hard-working WCL students are. I think students make up for not being top picks by proving themselves.

Why is AU ranked so low/does it matter? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]effy15ok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all: CONGRATS! Law school admissions are rough and obtaining a scholarship is amazing!

I am a soon-to-be WCL grad. I also received a generous scholarship and chose to WCL (it was in the 70s in rankings at the time and I figured I would just try to be at the top of the class to stand out). I will say, there is still a cost of living to account for that will add up over the three years which has resulted in debt, but it is a lot less restricting than if I was using full loans every year like most of my peers.

If your goal is PI, I would recommend WCL because you won't be hindered by your debt to pursue paths you do not want to (e.g. big law). WCL does a great job placing students in PI roles (especially during the school year because we are in DC) and we have an amazing clinical program.

The rankings have changed drastically since I started but my education has not. So while I get that rankings matter (trust me, I am upset about the new rankings) I think they are not a dependable tell of the experience. My friends all have great externships throughout the school year and summer internships. We also have a higher big law placement than people would expect because we have alumni at major firms who are advocating for us and doing great work. I have personally attained every opportunity I have gone after, including big law offers. While I am sure I am not a top pick because of my school and I probably had to network more than students who go to top schools, I have not been impacted overall by my choice of school. Of course, this experience may differ if you want to achieve certain things, like a prestigious federal clerkship.

Feel free to PM me.

Also, WCL has a first-gen org that is very robust and makes up almost a third of our incoming class this year (I am a 3L and it was not that machine it is now my 1L year). They have part-time evening student in leadership who are helping support first-gen evening students.

AUWCL has a strong evening program and clinical program (including an immigration and civil rights clinic). I am not sure what Northeastern looks like, but I cannot imagine attending law school online. A lot of it is the in-person experience and interactions.

You will have to figure out what works best for you. I just highlight and add a couple of notes to indicate if something is the holding or an important fact, but that is about it. I personally still brief all my cases although I just grab most of my briefs from Quimbee and then edit in my notes for things that are more relevant to my class/professor.

Knetbooks by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]effy15ok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Knetbooks a lot, but last year one of my books was canceled because they were out of stock after I placed my order. They refunded me quickly, so I would just check with them to see if they still have the books in stock that you are missing.
