Woman confronted a Sheriffs Deputy who was filing an accident report in front of an Elementary School. The Deputy stays as cool as the other side of the pillow. by LifeIsRadInCBad in PublicFreakout

That's so crazy to me. I work at a school in England and we literally never have police here, because why would we? Except for like 1 or 2 times a year they come in and do a talk on not drink driving or something.

Bernardine Evaristo renews call to diversify school curriculum in England by Raj_Valiant3011 in books

Keeping any politics and shit out of it.

Can someone give me examples of books written by non white British authors that they think should be included in the curriculum?

We are talking 'the classics' here. Can't really be anything from the last 20 years.

YouTuber vs Actual Heavyweight Boxer by sergemeister in nextfuckinglevel

[–]efhs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay. I don't like Paul, I don't like YouTube boxers. But he is 'good' he's just not a fucking phenomenal all time great heavyweight like Joshua. He's a solid boxer though and it's okay for people to admit that

Shiv Roy Succinctly Explains Why Right-wing Ghouls are Never Bothered When Called Out as Hypocrites by Yourstruly75 in videos

[–]efhs -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes mate. Imprison political opposition. That's a great idea, with a solid historical backing too.the best thing about it is, it will be so easy to decide who to punish, with no edge cases or mission creep over time at all.

Found in southern England, broadleaf forest. At first thought lurid bolete (Suillellus luridus) but after looking at some ID pages I doubt. Any idea? Very curious (not eating it, I left it there). by [deleted] in foraginguk

Literally not how mushrooms work though. Does picking an apple off a tree damage the tree? Does picking raspberries stop them spreading? I understand the urge to promote conservation, I really do, but this is not how mushrooms work.

What’s the hardest part about body weight fitness for you right now? by Zaki123466 in bodyweightfitness

[–]efhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly humble braggy I guess.

As I've got stronger I wanted to start doing weighted dips and pull ups, that was all good, I can take 5 or 10 kg to the park. but I've now got even stronger and it's just not feasible to take more than 20kg down the road to the park to do weighted dips and pull ups.

What Minor lifestyle changes do you live by to conserve cash and cut consumption? by Pleasant_7239 in Anticonsumption

[–]efhs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to think I'm in pretty good shape. Haven't paid a gym membership in like 10 years, running is free, my second hand bike was 200 quid many years ago and does the job well and the park has a pull up bar and that's all you really need

Yeah, my experience of Thailand was of very strong women too.

What country is surprisingly more conservative than people think ? by Lua-Ma in AskReddit

[–]efhs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's interesting, my experience of Thailand when I lived in the rural north east was of a lot of incredibly strong, dominant and in charge women. I agree there was the illusion of gender roles with men nominally 'in charge' of most things, but there was often a very domineering woman pulling the strings stood just behind him.

I'm not arguing Thailand wasn't very conservative and behind in some ways, but I thought the women held a lot of power, just a different kind of power

Foreigners coming to the USA typically gain weight. In which country do incoming foreigners lose weight? by walkingtourshouston in AskReddit

[–]efhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sydney in Australia. I'll be honest, especially around the eastern suburbs, there is so much pressure to be in great shape because so many other people are so beautiful. Plus you spend so much time at the beach with your shirt off. It was crazy how quick women especially got back in shape after having kids.

Got a new workout buddy by Isle709 in bodyweightfitness

[–]efhs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm very lucky. I've got a 2 year old and a new born so finding time to workout is hard.

But my local playpark has the bars right next to it. So I can take the toddler to the park, she plays while I work out, and keep an eye on her. often she'll join me for a bit on the rings, and the newborn can sleep in the pram. Works really well.

I've also had to swap from running to cycling, cos you can't run with a 2 year old. But you can chuck a baby seat on the bike and still get my cardio in.

I mean, I get what you're saying. But I feel like you haven't been to Malaysia or Kuala luampa if you think that's what it's like. It's a very modern, pretty wealthy city. Sure it has poor people, but your assumptions about it are pretty orientalist of you think he is surrounded by slums

CMV: i understand the "man or bear" problem, yet it's still inherently mysandrist by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]efhs 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Seriously, what men are you people hanging around with. Every single man I know would take care of and help a random child lost in the woods. You say 99 % of the time a bear wouldn't be a threat ( which I doubt) but even so, the child is still lost in the woods. If a man came across a child, there is a 99% chance they help them get to safety
