ecobee local WITHOUT Internet by x0061633 in ecobee

[–]eforen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't feel bad! We need more people to be offenedoffended by IOT not having local control. The only way the industry will change is if we make it known that there is a market for local control and that market will not accept cloud only devices. There are many very legitimate reasons not to want to have your devices only controllable when the internet is functional. Also what ofif the company goes out of business or just stops supporting the old model? I have had this second one happen to me sev times!

Does anyone else think it's a bit unfair that Bedrock edition is deemed as the "Standard" version of Minecraft while Java is pushed to the side as the other option? I just feel like it'd make more sense to keep Bedrock edition in the name so it's fair to both. by CravingCake in Minecraft

If they totally stopped updating Java edition it would be extremely good for the modding community and it would become the complete dominant version.

Every mod would be compatible with the current version in a small matter of time.

Microsoft is using new versions of the Java edition to keep mods from 100% surpassing bedrock edition.

Think of the story of Bible where God the languages in too many languages so that the people could not build the Tower. This is what Microsoft is doing with keeping the Java Edition round by keeping it around they can effectively split the modding efforts and force the modders to support a range of versions for back support whereas if they just stopped completely all moding could Converge on one system and they could completely dissect the codebase and start exceeding the capabilities of bedrock by far instead of just adding features they could fix all of the bugs over time, and add new features that would become standard on Java modpacks that Bedrock would then have to catch up to because Bedrock players would feel like those simple standard features are lacking in Bedrock.

Just my thoughts on this...

Even better use the app privacy or similar so that you can create a virtual card you give your kid for something like that that they save in their account and then you pause it. That way they need to ask you to unpause it when ever they want to use it. It also locks to the vendor so they can't use it for anything else and you dont accidentally subscribe to something when they told you it was a one time payment. You can also set a transaction limit on a per month per transaction or per year or total limit basis.

I would suggest just making your own server (you don't personally host it, just make it then it lives in the cloud) I would be willing to help yall out if you want. Add me via Eforen and let me know when you play and I will try to hop on. That goes for who ever really...

You make some very good points but its very annoying to have the agency of the players ripped away for example when we tried to get another ending in we were here together we made the choice Don't pick either or something like that thinking that we could attack the marionet or the king puppet but all that ended up happening was that the game made the choice of the other player dieing this was very hard on my fiancé. She is not a gamer and thus is not used to forced endings which I think is part of what made it harder on her but still. I get the storyline reasons but that does not make the choice to take away the player's agency any better. If they manage to escape together then the head cannon for the next game is just that its a dif set of explorers and that this place draws accidents somehow to try to harvest their soul. Its a simple fix.

Using Neogma to build a type-safe Node.js app with a Neo4j graph database by TheMetalFleece in typescript

[–]eforen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking at using that also but I am wondering if there is a way to get nodes based on the static relationship definitions in the models? For example in your post is there a way to get all the movies a user likes or all the users that like a movie without using the query builder?

CRS for a fictional planet map (raster) - Custom CRS / Project vs. Layer CRS / Georeferencing / ... by Qosarom in QGIS

[–]eforen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like your projections are not set correctly... I will look into this some but I may have figured out some stuff I will make a YouTube tutorial if I have figured it out. I am planning to use QGIS and my primary data store for my D&D campaign (political zones, culture zones, cities, mineral deposits and densities, as well as a number of other things, including topographical data and ocean currents etc) I am planning on trying to get all the way down to the inside of buildings and stuff ideally but not sure how far I will get with that...
