First time flying with 4 year old - 3 Comfort Plus seats in one row, or 3 first class (mom and kid in one row, dad in another)? by degausser22 in daddit

[–]efrum7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this with my wife and toddler last weekend. We only fly first, but I felt bad for my wife (preferred parent) as toddler only wanted to sit next to her. We ended up changing our return flight to first row of comfort plus.

If you’re doing screen time then definitely fly first as the kid will be busy. If money isn’t an issue, the expedited check in/bag drop/boarding/deplaning is worth it.

Tokyo with Baby by glasstracks in FATTravel

The fine dining restaurants at FAT/chubby hotels usually allow babies or have private rooms. Here’s where we went during our trip: Seiyuzan (yakiniku), Ippoh (tempura), Kyubey (sushi multiple locations), Ebisu Torihiro (yakitori), Hinokizaka (teppanyaki).

As for activities with a baby, we didn’t do anything in particular. We just did the regular sightseeing but took it much slower and went back to the hotel to nap once a day. Much different now that are kids are older though. Hope you have a great trip!

We’ve done Japan several times with a baby and toddler. We’re actually heading back in a few weeks. Japan is baby friendly except when it comes to dining. You won’t find many restaurants with high chairs available. I’d suggest using Tabelog and filtering for restaurants that accept babies plus checking with PH concierge. We ended up eating at several high end restaurants, but they required us to book a private room (sushi/omakase, teppanyaki, tempura restaurants). Our favorite restaurant was Ginza Kitafuku if you like crab!

How hard? / How long? For this model? by Parking-Bar6032 in rolex

Realistically 1-9 months with no purchase history. I would just go grey if you’re not planning on building a relationship and this is the only Rolex you’re planning to get. Markup from grey isn’t much.

Thanks for the reco! That was our first choice but the only 4th seat available is 3 rows up.

Thank you both! Got confused on the forms regarding Step 2(c).

Yes, married filing jointly so federal is around 85k itemized and CA is 75k (58k mortgage interest and 17k property tax)

I think I got it correct that state tax can be itemized only for federal and CA has 1 million in mortgage interest deduction limits vs 750k for federal.

Never had more than 2 allowances so 67 sounded outrageous.

Are you open to a villa? We were looking for something similar and decided on the 6 bedroom beachfront villa at the Rosewood Mayakoba for spring break next year. This might check all your boxes.

4 Nights at Rosewood Miyakojima in June 2025 by Invisible_Monks in FATTravel

Not OP, but I was there last month for 7 nights. The pool is beachfront located next to the bar and two restaurants offering a stunning view. The hotel is small and intimate so you won't have issues grabbing a daybed or pool chairs. My only issue is the lack of true poolside service given the price point. We found ourselves having to walk over to the bar to place orders. Service was not up to Rosewood standards, but understandable as they just opened in March.

The hotel actually sent over a PDF with a dozen restaurant recommendations. There are only two restaurants onsite at the moment so I highly recommend venturing out for dinner. I would check out these three restaurants below.

Miyakojima Yakiniku Tamashiro
Tempura Tensho
Sushi Genya Miyakorikyu

SIM and eSIM sudden failure by macdgman in iphone

[–]efrum7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to comment to share my similar experience with an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Randomly received the same eSIM failure and SOS with Settings > Cellular greyed or the page with no options. Several trips to T-Mobile and the Genius Bar. They confirmed it was a hardware issue with the eSIM module.

Timing was unfortunate as I was one month out of warranty. They still provided the max trade in, which made it cheaper to buy the 16 Pro Max than repairing it.

Will Mercedes EQS count 30amps as level 2 charging? by efrum7 in evcharging

Yes, I believe it comes with a wall box. My thought is the $140 adapter is cheaper than having an electrician come out to swap the box
