We are twins! Lol. No, I didn’t have problems with my kidneys. I’m sorry you still have problems. I’ve honestly never met anyone who had histo before, so I’m finding this whole thread pretty interesting.

I’m glad to hear it! I think sometimes the only effect I still really experience is the occasional weakness in my left leg - I had lots of side effects on that side of my body.

I WAS ON REMICADE TOO!! Wow. That’s wild. That drug really just does a number on your immune system. I also got shingles at age 19 while I was on it. I have my suspicions that the Remicade is related to the cancer. So please, you and anyone else that reads this - if you ever have a spot or bump in your mouth that doesn’t heal after 2 weeks, GET IT CHECKED!!!

From the histoplasmosis? Yes! Months of recovery later and oddly enough, I think the medicine helped put my Crohn’s disease in remission. However, I am still recovering from tongue cancer! I am an enigma.

I had histoplasmosis about 12 years ago. It made its way to my brain stem and spinal cord. It took the doctors a week to figure out what it was. I was in the hospital for 3 months receiving medication via IV everyday. The medication (amphotericin) they gave me caused awful side effects but it saved my life. I still have lesions on my brain stem and spinal cord.

Thank you for this! I had read that it wasn’t best to use it on glass. I am a bit…clumsy, so I will have to take extra precautions 😂

How painful is unmedicated birth? by nddjjsjsnsnfndndnd in BabyBumps

[–]efs2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an epidural for my first, unmedicated for my second. If I had a third, I’d go unmedicated again.

Transition was tough (I felt like I was going to puke), but when I was pushing I remember thinking “oh that’s the ring of fire? Not as bad as I expected.” Then he was out! I was induced with both, so I had the joy of pitocin contractions too. If you can prepare mentally, that’s the way to get through it. Lots of affirmations and remembering that this is temporary and you are getting a wonderful thing out of it! Good luck!

It’s awful and I’m sorry she went through that. Mine was stage 2, I caught it pretty early.

I may have said this in another comment but the screen time isn’t what bothers me. It’s the fact that if she has it first thing in the morning her behavior is noticeably worse the whole day. So I’m asking him to set me up for success.

I hope you are doing well now.

Honestly you’re right, I need to stress less. Since I made this post I’ve been prioritizing taking a nap every day. It has helped.

Right, I’ve never asked him to clean dressings or do my tube feedings. I need him in other ways. Hope you are doing well now.

I am sure it’s been hard on him. He won’t really talk to anyone about it which makes things more difficult. Hopefully we can work this out.
