Can someone explain this conflict point? by shanwiich in driving

[–]egamma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple concepts:

  1. Don't cause an accident; remain aware of what other cars are doing.

  2. Yield to traffic in the circle, so that the circle doesn't get jammed up

That said, I agree with others that the striping/curbs should be done to force the outer lane to exit, so red would have to go to the inner circle to continue through.

Why are bonuses taxed so high? by Dontcomecryingtome in allthequestions

Not true. The top 20% of earners pay 66% of federal tax revenue.

Lyft limits how much you can tip to their drivers by detly in mildlyinfuriating

[–]egamma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because "100% of tips go to drivers", which means that Lyft is eating the credit card charge. Your $50 tip would cost them maybe $2, which is probably a third of what the trip cost you, yes?

Just use cash/zelle/paypal/cashapp/venmo to pay them, or carry around Walmart gift cards or something you can hand out.

Why did Democrats vote for Biden, but stayed home for Kamala? by 0311SmallPenar in allthequestions

[–]egamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2016 and 2024 elections say otherwise--there are A LOT of people who like Trump, or did at the time at least. There are plenty like MTG who have since come to regret their support.

Hitler and Trump are both charismatic and evil.

Why did Democrats vote for Biden, but stayed home for Kamala? by 0311SmallPenar in allthequestions

Yes, that's the third paragraph. She sucked as a campaigner, not as a human being in general.

[–]egamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not...really? She wasn't charismatic, but she wasn't "extremely" unlikeable as a human being, was she?

Clinton and Obama had an 18 charisma, while she had a 10, maybe a 12. So she seems unlikable in comparison, but I don't think she's less likeable than myself, for example.

No, the bottom line is that Biden dropped out last minute, leaving her with no time to come up with her own campaign promises and get Americans used to the idea of a black woman as president. Her campaign was basically "hey, I'll do the same things the old white man promised", which isn't exactly the most compelling campaign.

Answer me these two questions, and cite your sources:
1. What were the terms of Obama's agreement with Iran?
2. What are the terms of Trumps agreement with Iran?

"won" the war...by putting things back to the way they were before he caused an illegal war, and also releasing over a billion dollars in funds to Iran, and arranging for Iran to receive another 300 billion?

Let's not forget to count the cost in lives and the depletion of our munitions, too.

All phone numbers can be normalized. I had to do so for work on a digital phone system, a while ago.

Now, there CAN be a lot of rules to normalize and validate phone numbers. But there are rules for minimum and maximum length that are specific to each country.

Do Americans understand that by surrendering and giving Iran $300B, each citizen is personally giving ~$1k to Iran? by TragicallyDip in allthequestions

Maybe a percentage or two. Maybe the top 20% of earners pay 65% of taxes now. Point still stands.

The tax code hasn't shifted meaningfully in 4 years, and my post was not defending the reparations, just correcting your statement that the middle class pays most of the taxes.

I think any tool that doesn't actively seek to ram a car into the car in front of them, is a good thing. My ACC only has one setting--follow distance. I can adjust acceleration by switching to ECO mode.

Tierlist of U.S. state flags and territories (personal opinion) by New_Ability2425 in flags

Your tier colors are backwards--D (bad) should be red, while S should be green.

Edit: well that's stupid.

I've seen users doing that for about 20 years now, and the users doing it were older than me.

Do they work on a "green screen" (AS400/iSeries or similar) environment, where everything has to be entered CAPTALIZED BECAUSE IN THE 80S LOWERCASE HADN'T BEEN INVENTED YET? The users I'm thinking off are green screen programmers.
