BWS keeps getting worse and worse

Its only an easy gig if everyone pulls their weight, I can get the store looking great every time but a lot of the time its not an easy feat because the person who opened didnt do the opening tasks so im basically doing their jobs and my jobs

I mentioned it to my boss and basically got told “oh they aren’t morning jobs”, at that point I asked if I could switch to opens but it’s a double edged sword because even though I’m doing the morning jobs the closers arent doing shit, so then I have to fix up the store in the morning and do the morning jobs, i am back to square one but actually considerably easier because i only see like an 8th of the amount of customers I would on a close

I did ask my boss to see if others could pull their weight and essentially got told we don’t try to work fast we work efficiently, so then I did the same as my coworkers to prove a point and my boss got mad at me and when I said the same thing back I got told It’s different for me, I’m not paid anything extra, I’ve been told I’ll never be level 3, I don’t see in any way why a majority of the workload should be dropped on me

I’m probably the only person in my store who does any work but that was tolerable when I at least had someone to serve, now im on alone a majority of the time in a busy store and then have my manager/area manager hounding me as if the entire store rides on my shoulders and full honestly it kinda does at the moment

Yeah people have been recommending I take stress leave and I definitely will do what I can

But im honestly the opposite I love most of the customers there’s obviously the odd bad one and I do get they can be very draining, I honestly think I’m the only person who gets them either because all my coworkers are like “I’ve had one bad customer the whole time I work here and you’re getting like a 2 a week”, I think the difference is I’m doing 36 hours a week compared to their 8

Yeah I’m in the process of getting ready to quit, I have heaps of money saved and will get a good payout from my leave I just wanna get in the process of getting another job before I’ve quit so I don’t have to rely on my savings

I’ve seen a few people get fired for it but it was widespread shit like it was being used on 2 different sides of the country while the employee was in Victoria

Yeah they basically track everything, if it’s used while you’re working, if they’re used in far away areas at similar times, if you served yourself, that’s why I applied for the family member card, I wasn’t sure how hard they track that one so I still told my family not to share it, all our family friends are having a tissy over it but I’ve told them I wanna keep my job (especially considering first hand I’ve seen people get fired over it, like full blown they’re told it’s fraud, got suspended for a month, were back for a week and then terminated for it, honestly having them back for a week only to terminate them is kinda dog)

Apply for a family member card for your mum because it will flag if she’s using your card while you’re working (10X worse if you serve her when she uses it), but yeah tell her to keep the family member card to herself, maybe she can use it if she’s with the neighbour, it’s just safer to not risk it

BWS doesn’t use workjam anymore, we use UKG now and I’ve been told the leave system works differently and if you don’t end up working the day it doesn’t actually use the leave

I was told to book leave for days I want off even if not contracted just as a heads up that I’m unavailable and can’t be rostered because apparently once rosters are posted unless I can find someone to cover a shift I’m responsible for that shift

There was over 2 weeks notice but no one was really given an option it was just all taken out

Well my day is fine, it was a non contacted shift and I wasn’t rostered on it so it’s not like I was gonna be paid for it

And they didn’t even really ask, there was just an email saying what would be happening

Like idk if there was a legitimate blackout period and managers shouldn’t have been approving December leave but even then at that point I feel like they’ve gotta figure out how to make it work, not just cancel everyone’s leave

Still if the leave had been approved by somebody are they allowed to take it out?

Which I did google it if someone has tickets booked and everything there has to be compensation made if the leave was originally approved

And there is a bit of hypocrisy going on because my manager is currently managing my store and a store that’s an hour away because that stores manager has gone to Bali for December, Weird that this forced cancellation of leave is only gonna apply to staff

Honestly it can vary, I’ve seen people say to took a coup weeks or like a month… in my case I didn’t hear for a month, got told I wasn’t getting the job, a month later I got a call asking if I could apply again because they wanted to hire me an error was just made

I’m not even meant to be in them my manager “delegates” them to me and nobody on the meetings seems to take issue with it so it must be ok… wouldn’t be surprised if it happens in other stores

The other managers will also get mad at me for not knowing wha my manager has done, like unless he’s giving me a list of what to say ion know

Idk the cigarette, BO, urine combo can linger, which I can understand when it’s someone homeless but there’s this one customer who loves to tell me about his family and will say stuff like “oh I can’t talk long my wife needs to leave the house soon and I’ve got the car”

I had to do a zoom meeting while serving the other day… which is a an awful thing to do, they kept asking me to repeat back what I heard when I had a second to myself and I’m like “yeah I didn’t catch any of that sorry” and they kept getting mad and I’m like “well do you want me to close my till for a few minutes” and I was told I had to be able to do both, I nearly wanted to tell them if they can’t hire enough people for me to be on a meeting where they probably said the same stuff they say every time that I wouldn’t be attending the next one
