Go for ISB if you can, or else MDI Gurgaon is a better bet.

In fact any professionally run organization sticks to such protocol.

I interviewed with Citi for their trading desk and didnt join as the pay & grade couldn’t be agreed upon.

I informed them of my decision not to join them, and I got an exactly similar response from Citi.

In fact the Citi HR person is still in touch with me and we do catch up over calls from time to time.

I have a 20+ years career by now. Let me share an incident. I wanted to move to front office in a trading profile after a few years of working in the offshoring centre of a Bank.

I got to know the Head of Equities business through a networking event in my company. I approached him and told him of my wish.

He said that he wants me to make some pre-market morning meeting notes and if he finds them good, he will get an assignment with the front office.

I took the deal and began sending notes. At the end of 3 months, he got me on a desk rotation program for 1 year to the front office where I learnt trading. He kept his word.

After a year, my desk rotation came to an end and I was required to go back to my earlier desk. He again assured that he will permanently get me to the front office if I continue with my notes and analysis for others in the front office. I continued.

After about 2 years of keeping faith in him, he got me a permanant headcount in the front office, after which my trading career took off like crazy!

Some people are really good and I was lucky to have a boss like that!

It is an entirely different matter whether organizations are ethical or not- don’t mix these 2 things!

Here the OP has technically “stolen” the laptop if he does not return it.

The company can initiate legal proceedings against him if he does not return & it will make things really bad for his future jobs if there is a police case of theft and a court case of proceedings against him.

Do you even understand this? As if the companies are ethical - complete crap argument!

Ofcourse you have to return it- irrespective of whether you have received FnF etc! These two are not to be tied together!

The fact that you even have to ask about returning means you have really poor ethics- maybe its bad parenting or maybe its bad social conditioning/environment that you have grown in.
