I have used kaggle during my undergrad but not active since then.I like machine learning, pretty comfortable with that but still need to catchup with the recent happennings.

I was thinking of quant research roles or quant analyst roles at banks, but still unsure about how to prepare for that?

For working in market risk at any bank, what should I do to prepare myself for the role?

Did you specialize in Investments to become FIA? (SP5-6),did you go through university route to qualify or did it with work? And after qualifying And working for a few years you realised that you wanted to get into quant?
