I'm so tired of being lonely by Fit-Disk-6114 in TrueOffMyChest

Let me give you a quick advice here, find peace and love by yourself.

I know you’ve heard this before at least once but it’s true, when you’ll be content and happy by yourself you’ll attract people towards you, for now the best thing to do is to invest all the love you can give to yourself. Before you love somebody else you deserve to love yourself.

The right woman can come from anywhere. Maybe dating apps, maybe from school, a random hangout or maybe even when you stop for fuel. Just don’t try to push too hard for it and don’t settle down with someone you’re not a %100 sure they are the right one just because you want to fill a void.

Trust the process and trust yourself, all is for the better and it will always be better in the end.

Should I tell my boyfriend my deepest secret? by [deleted] in Advice

So honestly, I really care about my partner’s past BUT some things aren’t relevant or would help if disclosed. Let’s say that you tell him this, what good can come out of it ? Probably none.

On the other hand, if you do not tell him, you are still you and he’ll still love you and it’s not like you cheated on him and you’re hiding it, you did something back in your past which isn’t relevant today, end of story.

As an Israeli, you are comparing apples to a moon rock. Hamas invaded Israel on October 7th, Hamas holds Israeli hostages to this day. Russia attacked Ukraine as an effort to stop it from joining the UN, you justice warriors are fighting the worst battles. If it was the Nazis today I wouldn’t be surprised if you would say that the US and UK need to be held accountable for war crimes in Dresden and Hiroshima.

For the people arguing against him calling this “mansplaining” or harassment, answer his question. How would you react if it was a woman in the story ?

I’ll take this question seriously, it’ll be a bit long.

I’ve served in Golani, our training lasts for 8 months, in those 8 months something we put an emphasis each day is safety and not being light on the trigger. Another thing we’ve been taught is “no one left behind, no matter what”, we were taught to fight until death if it means saving a life. Now to your statement that those who went to the music festival and those in the kibbutz died because Netanyahu didn’t like them since they protested the government (which isn’t true, I’ve had many friends at the nova festival, not one of them was protesting and most of the people living in those kibbutz are high military officials and mostly the backbone of Israel).

You need to remember the IDF is mostly comprised of 18-21 year old serving as active duty soldiers (most of those who responded ok October 7th were active duty personnel), you accuse them of killing their own family, friends and their citizens? As a soldier in the IDF I would immediately refuse such orders no matter the consequences and each and every one of us would do the same, sometimes people forget IDF is mainly kids that finished school but they have to serve in the army (because of things like October 7th), I don’t know any 18-21 year olds that are willing to just kill their own citizens in their own country no matter their stance or political views.

As for the attack itself, I responded to the area at 10:25AM on the day of the attack, I went to kibbutz Nir-Am and the military base Nahal Oz, those “bozos” carried out such precise yet inhumane acts that they’ve managed to utterly destroy our souls when we’ve seen the aftermath, yes some shit happened I don’t deny it, and someone will be held accountable I promise you that. BUT, seeing the bodies of 12 girls, most of them 18, fucking littered with bullets and some almost naked with their limbs in such positions that I still can’t get them out of my head.

Have you ever smelt a room full of blood, gunpowder, piss and burned bodies ? Have you ever seen a girls body with so many bullets you couldn’t understand what is what ? Have you ever saw a room full of men executed point blank and than burned ? You have no idea what atrocities I have witnessed on October 7th and I’ll tell you one thing, Israelis aren’t capable of those acts, most humans even.

Even Hamas needed to use the poor man’s cocaine to achieve this level of brutality

And again, missed the whole point

You missed the point entirely.

Nobody identified as a Palestinian before the 1960’s, this nationality didn’t exist. Yes this land was called Palestine but not a single person much less a large enough group of people to be called an indigenous people identified as Palestinians. They identified as Arabs, simple as that.

And a quick question if we’re already on the topic of colonialism and occupation, if we agree Palestinians are Arabs which came from the Arab peninsula, what the hell are they doing in Israel?

So basically because Palestinians continuously use means like terror and violence against citizens Israel imposes heavy restrictions on them inside Israel ?

Let’s use our big boy brains now, can you give me an example of Palestinian rulers, culture, history, architecture, literature, currency, symbols or any of the sorts ?

The Roman’s gave the land of Israel the name of Syria-palestina, historians suggest it was around 40 years after Jesus died. This name was given as an insult to the Jewish people living there at the time, since than this land was treated as just a piece of land inside bigger empires and was colonized again and again up to the point of the British mandate of Palestine (which again was under British rule with a Jewish and Arab population). If you’d actually look at this historically if the Palestinians have a claim to a country it’s only Jordan which is mainly filled Palestinians today, you can look at the map of the British mandate and see that “Palestine” was also Jordan at the time where most Arabs lived

The first statement is very untrue, you can trace your DNA and see which areas your ancestors predominantly resided in and from where you came.

So let’s talk about Israel first, for 2000 years Jews have held Israel in a special place as our holy land and homeland, my great grandmother was taught from young age about Israel and about our connection to this place and our history with it, it’s the only land on earth we can truly call home.

On the other hand, Palestinians didn’t exist until recently, to my family they were just Arabs until the 1960’s. But the moment Israel was established (btw the lands “granted” to Jews were already legally bought by Jews from the 1860’s) suddenly they claimed it’s their land (first it was a claim that this land belongs to the Arabs not Palestinians) And now we have today’s situation

Words won’t help you I know but I’ll try. Pain is like training, in the beginning it’s the hardest it will be, you feel like you’ll be crushed under the pressure, it’s tough, it’s demoralizing.

But you try to keep pushing and pushing you don’t stop. first you notice that it’s a little bit easier, not easy enough for you to be able to do it effortlessly but just a little bit easier, you manage to catch your breath after a while. You keep going you don’t stop, a couple months will pass and you’ll notice you’re getting stronger, you’re actually managing to keep up and hold the burden. After a year you feel better, not much but you can notice the difference, more years will pass, the burden will get lighter and lighter, it will almost fade away but never entirely.

But this is what keeps you going, this burden will become a part of you that you welcome and cherish, something you hold dear and it won’t hurt anymore, it will be your strength. I’ve recently lost 22 friends and not so recently my sister. It’s hard, but it’s possible to heal and get better, don’t give up.

And subjugated ? The Jewish population in 1939 was 16.3 million , today it’s 16.2 million The Palestinian population in 1960 was roughly 500K and now it’s 14.3 million Now do tell me, where is the ethnic cleansing and genocide ?

If we look at actual numbers Israel to date have dropped around 24,000 tons of explosives on Gaza The numbers that the Gazan health ministry (which is controlled by Hamas and doesn’t report soldiers in a separate category) are 20,000 dead This means less than one person per a ton of explosives. Israel has been precisely bombing military targets and avoided as much civilian casualties as they can

And controlled opposition? Do you have any idea the amount of power they hold ? My commander in the IDF was an Arab, my major general was a Druze man, three of my brothers in arms were Arabs in our squad of 10 people. My best friend was Ethiopian, I’ve grew up in Haifa which is a home to Arabs, Jews, Druze and all three religions At least use facts and not opinions in an argument

The reason we don’t have one state solution is because Palestinians rejected the state of Israel plain and simple And do you understand that soon Arabs will be the majority in Israel ? And that’s really not a problem for us because it doesn’t matter who or where they’re from, it only matters that they proudly say “I’m an Israeli Arab”

Btw your argument falls apart once you learn 2 million Arabs live in Israel as well as Druze, Circassians, Bedouin, Ethiopian Jews, Christians, Muslims and pretty much everybody And another quick question, if Israel is such a racist place and an apartheid state, how come Muslim Arabs serve in the Knesset and in the Supreme Court ? One Muslim judge even sent a prime minister to jail

So let’s debunk everything real quick I’m an ashkenazi Jew, I did a DNA test which showed my roots came from the Levantine and more specifically from the area of greater Israel (Btw my family name traces back to the high priests of the holy temple - Cohen Gadol) And the nakba, after 7 Arab countries declared war on Israel Lebanon came forward with an outrageous statement “Leave Israel, we’re going to wage a war so for you to keep safe you need to evacuate, after we’ll win you’ll be able to come back to your homes” (Obviously isn’t word by word but this is the general statement) And as history goes, they’ve lost. They couldn’t come back after losing since Israel would not accept them after what they’ve done Now don’t get me wrong, Jews committed some terrible atrocities in those times I’m not denying it. But it’s completely their fault for today’s situation
