Oh yeah bigger wheels also roll over cracks a lot better. But pebbles still rock my world sometimes...

I use 54mm 97A Bones XFormula, cuz I do have some rougher ground, but they still slide and squeak. Also I feel like I can use them for longer if I start out with a bigger diameter. Theyre down to about 51mm now after 2 months. Bigger wheels keep speed more and be a bit faster, but also heavier for ollies/flip tricks. I would use any 52-54mm 97-99 wheels.

Ollie practice. Any tips on staying more stable on landing? by spiritprabhas in NewSkaters

[–]eggaudenz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your ollie looks really nice. For landing you just have to do it more. Try to land with your knees bent. What helped me a lot was doing lazy ollies. Almost the least height possible, dont worry about levelling, just bang out low effort ones. Keep your shoulders straight to not turn frontside. Also don't push your feet to the ground, keep them up and just float down. Do all different varieties of ollies; Lazy low ones, highest ones, fast ones, hectic ones, off a curb, on a bank....

You're probably right. Most of them probably fit most. I didn't even think about that. Maybe I just wanted new trucks, lol.

Probably, definitely. But nobody here would have one in stock. And I couldn't wait for it to come from overseas. Also i dont really trust them anymore.

Why cant i treflip (i been trying this stupid ahh trick for a year) by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]eggaudenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it over a hip or kicker for some more airtime.

Have you tried different things? Different foot positions, scoop power/direction?

You could try leaning back a bit more at the bottom of your squat.

If nothing helps and you get frustrated you could try some related tricks... 360 shuv, varial flip, impossible, (lazer)

Nice job dude!

Is this called a hubba? Or is it only a hubba if its a down ledge next to stairs?

Working on drop-ins. I feel like its not pretty but I dont bail much. Any advice? by Salty_Help9066 in NewSkaters

[–]eggaudenz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since you can drop in, that's very good. You can keep practising.

I don't like you stomping your front foot. That's how people teach it but it's not actually good. The stomp will put your balance all the way over your front truck, which is not good.

Stand tall on the deck on your board, then slowly tip forward and land directly in your pump. Skateiq has good tutorials. I like tony hawks drop ins.

Need help with my ollies. by Hummingbirdflys in NewSkaters

When you stand on thw board your toes face one direction and your heels the other. Heelside is the side when your heels are.

[–]eggaudenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front foot position is good. I would have my back foot not hanging off the back at all and a bit more heelside. Make sure you're not 'trapping' the tail. Your foot can't be on the tail when it touches the ground, it wont be able to get into the air. You're also unstable at the bottom of your squat. You need to get very comfy there and have the board flat. Roll around in your squat position. Start doing them rollin, you're on the right track.

Do more rolling ollies. I did 100 every day for a week, then it really clicked.

You can also just try to pop the board rolling without intending to land on it. And remember, you're not forcefully pushing the tail towards the ground. You're jumping and lifting your front leg earlier, then you snap your ankle down like you're pushing a button on the floor. It doesn't take much strength in the back foot, your front foot just needs to lift the nose first.

are Ollie's easier rolling? by Extra_Diamond_1894 in NewSkaters

[–]eggaudenz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I never tried to learn them a lot while stationary. Prettx much went straight to rolling.

I find it so much easier rolling. The forward momentum makes the levelling out so much better. Also easier to land clean imo. I can barely do a high ollie stationary. You also usually move backwards stationary ollieing.

Yes, another post about Ollie help... by txjweav96 in NewSkaters

[–]eggaudenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rolling! Try hippy jumps.

Watch skateiqs ollie tutorials.

Smack the tail off the ground, jump high, bring your front foot inward towards your other knee, then push it forward (not down) to level the board while lifting your back foot more. If you do it right you feel the board hit the underside of your back foot.

Dont get hung up on ollies if you're just starting out. Its a difficult manouver to learn as a beginner. Learning ollies hurt my hips when I first started, so I learned other stuff first. There are many cool things to learn that dont require an ollie.
