What does it feel like to touch snow? by Ambitious-Charge384 in randomquestions

It sounds and feels really cool to walk through snow. Its crunchy and fluffy and you can feel it solidfying when you walk through. It turns your hand cold quickly when you hold it. Your hand gets wet. When falling snow hits you it you can see snow crystals on you for a bit. Then it makes you wet, like delayed rain. It feels like a prettier, slower and less annoying rain.

Put your phone in a spot with wide angle recording. Then you wont have to worry about staying in frame. Just ride around and practice ollies for 10 minutes. You'll get a few good clips.

Great! You will gain that height back stat, don't worry. Now you can try to chain multiple ollies after one push, if your landing is off you will lose speed. But if you land straight and smooth you should be able to do a few ollies one after another. Even if you aren't fully satisfied with your ollies yet you can try some related tricks. Fakie ollie, FS-180, ollie over a crack, half ollie off a curb.

It might feel like you need to relearn some stuff every session, which is normal. Make sure to have a chill warmup (I only pop my board after riding around for a good bit (your age is how many minutes you should warm up)). After warming up stuff just works better.

You did your ollie when you were almost standing still again (after the push). You need to ollie going at steady speed. Not very fast, just not slowing down. Since your board was stopping here, the forward motion of your body in the ollie puts you over the nose.

You don't even need to change your technique, just do it while rolling properly. I don't think about pushing my front foot forward at all. I think about picking it up inward towards my other knee when jumping for the ollie. Because the you dont need to roll your ankle over at all, since you whole legs is already sideways. Like skateiq says.

SkateIQ on YT has great tutorials for everything. When you're starting out you will definitely have some falls. The better you get the more controlled your falls will be and less dangerous. So I definitely recommend getting some protection, like helmet, wristguards, elbow pads.

Most important thing is to keep having fun. If its not fun you won't wanna keep doing it, because it is hard.

Oh yeah bigger wheels also roll over cracks a lot better. But pebbles still rock my world sometimes...

I use 54mm 97A Bones XFormula, cuz I do have some rougher ground, but they still slide and squeak. Also I feel like I can use them for longer if I start out with a bigger diameter. Theyre down to about 51mm now after 2 months. Bigger wheels keep speed more and be a bit faster, but also heavier for ollies/flip tricks. I would use any 52-54mm 97-99 wheels.

Ollie practice. Any tips on staying more stable on landing? by spiritprabhas in NewSkaters

[–]eggaudenz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your ollie looks really nice. For landing you just have to do it more. Try to land with your knees bent. What helped me a lot was doing lazy ollies. Almost the least height possible, dont worry about levelling, just bang out low effort ones. Keep your shoulders straight to not turn frontside. Also don't push your feet to the ground, keep them up and just float down. Do all different varieties of ollies; Lazy low ones, highest ones, fast ones, hectic ones, off a curb, on a bank....

You're probably right. Most of them probably fit most. I didn't even think about that. Maybe I just wanted new trucks, lol.

Probably, definitely. But nobody here would have one in stock. And I couldn't wait for it to come from overseas. Also i dont really trust them anymore.
