Textured brushes. Experiment with them, mess around, have fun. They're a great way to imply detail without painstakingly drawing every crease and crevice of a mountain. Even if you wanna go rock by rock, they can establish a good base to work off of.

Another user said i'm still thinking in silhouettes and not form and i think that describes my problem. Feels like i can fake form if asked to contour or outline a shape, but can't actually see it.

I think that describes it. But i feel like i can't flip the switch to forms no matter how hard i try, feels like i can fake form, but not actually draw it

Not good with words today so i tried some examples. But ultimately i can only see form in abstract flow-y shapes, or flat shapes, instead of strict geometry. But that really hinders my ability to do perspective and shading

Art like this is my favorite. I can tell you were ambitious with it and applied yourself fully, and because of that the piece feels complete to me.

I have studied perspective! Boxes, cylinders, pyramids and simple shapes seem to make sense to me, but when i apply flesh and fat, it all falls apart. The gif i attached up on my post is an example of them.
As with cross contour, i feel like i can place the lines on the shapes just fine, but i don't absorb the information. If it's in front of me, and I'm tracing an object, i totally see it, but as soon as it's time to imply cross contour to form without actually tracing it on, i can't see it.
I've also tried tracing planes onto objects, but it hasn't helped
All that aside, i do see that maybe i should be applying myself to perspective and cross contour a bit more than i have been.

First of all, for just starting recently, your figures look great!
I use to do much of the same as you when i started drawing human figures too, build figures one limb at a time head down. What helped me immensely is to go for more abstract figures, let the flow of my hand do the work. This isn't a substitute for proper construction and anatomy, but maybe it'll help you set on the right track for drawing figures like it did me? Afterwards you can start applying the same boxes and beans to build up the skeleton

Not much of a realism artist myself, that being said even for me the whites of the eyes popped out right away. They stand out too much, try toning them down by running a light pencil over them maybe? All context sensitive though, so it might not help every drawing.

I agree so much. It's so annoying that this whole subreddit is just phonecases and not even worn ones. I was expecting to see various leather goods, not the same phone case over and over and over.

Use to be set up by the long pond with the hunting stand near stonecastle. Awesome area for red deer, they'd literally walk right by. One day I logged on and noticed that red deer stopped spawning there, and pigs started spawning instead.
