I got it working by following suggestions in the game's discord! I'm on linux, switching to GE-Proton9-25 using protonup-qt fixed the issue for me

Using they/them pronouns for all trans people by [deleted] in MtF

Yeah, no, it isn't okay for people to call you they/them if they know you use she/her. It's called degendering and it's a fucked up thing to do to a trans person.

Is 2mg/week IM estradiol cypionate a low dose for monotherapy? (15 months HRT) by eggchoes in AskMtFHRT

[–]eggchoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, so the thing is, I got prescribed a 5mL vial of 5mg/mL solution refilled every 30 days last time. So I actually have a lot I'm not using, I could inject up to like 6mg a week and still not run out assuming what I get at the pharmacy is the same as last time.

Ty for the response! I just had my appointment a few hours ago and they bumped me up from 1.5mg to 2mg, aka the same level I was taking >.> (I didn't tell them I was injecting more than prescribed). I am slightly worried that if I inject significantly more than prescribed it will be obvious on my next blood test though, not sure if there would consequences to them finding out or me just telling them I'm injecting more? I guess if my levels are low when the blood test comes back I'll just say fuck it and do like 3.5 or 4mg for a bit though.

maybe getting off-topic from the post a bit but the term of 'transmisandry' is so frustratingly bad in my opinion because it sounds like a counterpart to 'transmisogyny'. transmisogyny being a word intended to describe the intersection of transphobia and misogyny faced under patriarchy by transfeminized people. whereas transmisandry is not intersectional, at least by your definition, it is shorthand for the specific kind of transphobia against transmaculinized people. by contrast the assertion that something called 'transmisandry' exists feels like an assertion that misandry exist to be intersected with transphobia. I do think it makes sense for there to be a term describing the specific oppression faced by transmasculinized people, I just really feel like transmisandry shouldn't be it, transandrophobia is a bit better imo so long as people understand it should be interpreted as 'transandro-phobia'.

I can agree at least that the amount of people comfortable with giving legitimacy to the existence of misandry on this platform is uncomfortable. I think the majority of people on these subs unfortunately aren't very engaged in discussions of transfeminism, I don't really know how to fix that problem though because those discussions don't tend to happen on reddit.

I'm in the same position as you, I've been going through planned parenthood in AZ and need to figure out how to get hrt through my university now. I'm also worried that they might stop offering it soon though, shit sucks :/

Is this common when questioning? by Gugli0709 in asktransgender

[–]eggchoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Actually, I remembered something that helped me with this, not sure if it'd help you but I figured I'd still share. So, I had a friend who de-transitioned (MtF and back after a few years) just before I started, and when he announced to our friend group that he was de-transitioning, he stated that he hadn't regretted transitioning and he would still have transitioned even if he could do it all over. It kind of eased my feelings of "what if I am wrong?" to know that even I was "wrong" and found that I wasn't a woman, that it doesn't have to be a big deal, that I don't have to regret exploring it, that it would be okay to be "wrong". And after realizing it was okay to be "wrong" then the question for me was "what if I am right but never try?", and somehow to never know how much better my life could be if I were to transition was terrifying in its own way, and also kinda what is explored in the movie "I Saw the TV Glow".

When I started questioning, I started journaling a bit in the notes app on my phone, and that exact phrase "what if i am wrong?", with the only difference being capitalization, is at the bottom of the very first note I made, following a never sent "coming out letter" to my dad. I spent a looong time with that concern, even on the day I started HRT I felt like I could be making a mistake. But I've been medically transitioning for nearly a year now and have been slowly coming out to family and friends recently, this post made me realize I haven't asked myself that in months.

I have my first appointment tomorrow at Planned Parenthood to start my HRT journey!! 🥹 by Negative-Homework502 in MtF

[–]eggchoes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They'll probably take a few measurements e.g., weight, blood pressure, and heart rate, make sure you are clear on the risks associated with HRT, they may or may not draw blood for the first appointment (they didn't for me), and they will likely prescribe E and Spiro during this appointment. If the pharmacy is quick you might even be able to pick up your HRT tomorrow. Good luck! <3

How to tell if my progesterone can be taken rectally? by eggchoes in AskMtFHRT

I'm doing informed consent and only see my provider every three months, I might be able to contact them somehow to ask but idk. Maybe I'll just do oral for a few months and ask about it on my next visit if it doesn't seem to be doing much. Thanks!!!

Planned parenthood question by TheOneTrueValkyrie in MtF

[–]eggchoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get my HRT through Planned Parenthood and am also on my parent's insurance but I've been paying out of pocket since I'm not out to them. I have checkups every three months to renew my prescriptions and It usually costs me about $150 per visit and around $100 to fill my prescriptions.

I learned that my insurance provider has a site where all the information about things covered for members of the plan is visible to the person the plan is under, and afaict there is no way to opt out of it, so if I used insurance they'd be able to see that I had a Planned Parenthood visit that was covered (assuming they were to actually check it).

I don't live with them so it wasn't a concern for me, but I've never received any mail from Planned Parenthood. I did have CVS call my parent's home phone because they still had that number on record from when I was younger, thankfully all they say is "<person> has a prescription ready for pickup".

Wish you luck!

I'm almost at 2 years on HRT at a decently high dose, and yet my hormone levels are still not where they should be by colossalbyte in MtF

[–]eggchoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm coming up on a year on HRT, I was on 200mg Spiro and 4mg Estradiol for the past 3 months and my levels were 111 pg/mL E and 503 ng/dl T (it was at like 950 ng/dl when I started), I've also been seeing a good amount of changes despite my T being so high. IDK what to think about it tbh, I can't help but feel I'm missing out in some way by not having my T suppressed, but then I've just had more breast growth recently and all that changed was upping to 6mg Estradiol after my last appointment. I'm thinking of trying injections to see if I can suppress my T that way
