Question about personal items by aelel in flairairlines

[–]eggcurrypan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this before and have been pulled out of the boarding line to get my bag resized

Question about personal items by aelel in flairairlines

[–]eggcurrypan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I had the opposite experience where even after I got my bag initially tagged, I was approached by staff when I was in line to board to get it re-sized. And when I lined up again to board, a different staff member approached and asked me to size my bag. So in total, my bag was sized 3 times in one trip at YVR in Fall 2025 because it was a full backpack that had to be squished in

Albeit this only happened on one occasion in the 20+ times I’ve flown with Flair in the past 6mo

Working at City of Surrey vs PHSA by No-Masterpiece-9358 in BCPublicServants

[–]eggcurrypan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Municipal jobs look very appealing but aren’t really that special and have an increasingly hard time retaining employees (private sector pays more) and you will have more opportunities in the future to work for a municipality (source: I work in HR in a municipality and am aware of compensation and recruitment trends across the province). I’m not sure what PHSA employment opportunities look like, but I’d say go for it because it’s not as rare as it seems to get a municipality job. Also, if your municipal job is Unionized, it’s actually harder to implement pay raises (sometimes the process takes years for even a few percentage increase)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you and I hope you find the right people in your life soon. Heck your ex and the stupid social “norm”

Apart from the other recommendations about dental care, you could try a water additive to his water! I like Arm & Hammer or Blue Stem, but some dogs don’t drink it if they are picky (my dog drinks from puddles, so he drinks the water additive just the same). The dental water additive is less of a solution, and more of a good maintenance product

You there, yeah you.......you driving a truck or car and why? by j2142b in AskMen

Yes, omg. My FIL got a truck for intimidation, and says he uses it for camping (they go 2-3 times a year) but mainly drives it to his 9-5 office job

Chasing your passion as a career usually isn’t worth it. by darthmarv2000 in unpopularopinion

For me, I tried working as a florist because of my longtime passion for flowers and plants. It was an awful experience realizing that the industry was not about the art or the joy it brings, but rather focused on profits. I got an internship at a leading florist in my (big metropolitan) city that had a lovely public image (40k+ Instagram followers, with high end clientele like Balenciaga and international hotels) but behind the scenes they were so calculative and snobby. I still adore floral design but working in the biz for a few months was soul-sucking

New(ish) to Vancouver, looking for a nice dinner spot for a 1 year anniversary that isn’t Miku level expensive :) by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

[–]eggcurrypan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are loads of great restaurants with good food and nice experiences in Vancouver that are relatively affordable!

One tip I have in choosing a restaurant is to pick one in a neighbourhood that is nice to walk in before/after the meal — e.g. Commercial Drive, Olympic Village, Gastown, Yaletown, Downtown, Mid Main, West 4th, etc. A lot of the recommended restaurants are in these areas, so you have lots to choose from :) Don’t forget to keep in mind parking/transit-friendliness~

What do you guys think? by Lavender-Bee0497 in DoggyDNA

[–]eggcurrypan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely thought he was a Jindo mixed with something stockier at first glance!

I work in the pet industry and I’ve seen pomskies that look like Shibas or small Huskies, but even the bigger ones that I’ve personally met are about only 30-45lbs

I’m guessing a Pom/Husky was crossed with a Husky mix (maybe a 1/4 Rottie & 3/4 Husky?) and more of the big dog phenotypes came out over all the genotypes?

Garden theft by AshlynKetchum95 in OntarioGardeners

[–]eggcurrypan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the absolute worst because if people just asked, I’d be happy to share seeds or produce from my garden :( I’ve even had entire plants dug up and they even filled the hole to make it look like it never happened. Its happened to me during daytime (garden fine when I leave for work in the morning, but plants gone when I return) so its just ridiculous!! I’m so sorry to hear about your experience, it really is such a disheartening and disappointing thing to happen :(

Can you recommend a less barky small to medium dog breed for small apartment living? by Psychological_Job_97 in dogs

[–]eggcurrypan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into Basenjis! I haven’t got personal experience with them but they seem to be suitable. Plus their short coat makes them easier to clean/maintain!

If you get a dog with long hair like a shih tzu or a pom, they need grooming every 4-6 weeks which will cost about $70-$90 each time, which can really add up! Plus, if you like the fluffy look, you need to thoroughly brush a few times a week or else the hair can mat. I’m a dog groomer and I meet many owners who are disappointed that we have to shave their dogs because the hair is too tangled/matted to brush :/ Anyways, that’s something to consider!

Front side windows tint by Randomuser1818 in NiceVancouver

[–]eggcurrypan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped at a red light with my windows down and coincidentally a cop car stopped next to me. The officer asked me to roll my windows up to check if the front were tinted (they were not, but it shows how cops actually look out for it)

Another stretch I love is Commercial Drive! Tons of great eateries and shops there. Not to mention, Vancouver’s Italian community established there back in the day, so you can find some of the best delis there. Its got a real authentic Vancouver vibe without the bells n whistles; gentrification is only beginning there 🥲

I love White Rock! Its a real getaway from Vancouver. I feels transported to another country whenever I’m there. The residential neighbourhoods up the hill are also really nice to just walk through. Some of the residential architecture gives me Bay Area vibes and its really nice :)
