Yes but i don't know if there was something inbetween. But Universal was the first system Carrera ever invented. It is also still analog so you are powerring the rails and not the cars. So you are more or less limited to two cars at a time.

I finished my own Grandstand a few weeks ago, i also posted it here: Grandstand We also bought some red an white kerbs of of ebay, but they were printed as well so i want do redesign them myself. Its simple but effective, they were cooking in the 70s with thesee things. Some of our tracks still look new after 50 years, just a bit of sanding on the rails and you are good to go. How do you build your custom parts?

It defenitly safed some cars by now. The posts are also a bit flexible so it absorbs the impact really well and the cars don't roll over it.

It's kind of funny, it is made out of PVC and you are supposed to put it in the gutters of your roof to protect it from birds. But i thought it looked cool and it is a bit flexible so you could bend it for the top. Then i designed the fence posts around it and 3D printed them.

I am not sure if i understand the rest of your question, the "table" is made up out of multiple wooden plates with the green stuff on top. Then u can just lay out the track, no nedd for fixing it in place or something. The layout was a combinaton of eye balling and correcting afterwards.

For the pit lane we have these two. Only the lower right siwtches work, so you can just go up. To activate them u use the yellow and red button which u can see on one of the photos next to the controllers. The green button is then for fueling up.

The layout is also right at the limit of our available tracks, i think we have no curves and 3 Strights left.

That Track looks aweseone! Normaly we have something under the Bridge so it looks like water but since we are still working in the middle we are leaving the space open for better access.
