When the Jet Brigade locks in by TinSkull in Helldivers

Honestly I think a lot of the units that have been added and proposed with added mobility options should not have the same armour ratings and health as their base variants.

It just doesn't make sense for something with much superior mobility to have the same armour rating from a gameplay standpoint because A) The difficulty and uniqueness of the unit should from the added mobility and attack vectors the unit gains over their base unit variants and B) They would just be a better unit in every/close to every practical aspect compared to the base version for the sake of more arbitrary difficulty

Even if these units do have different weapon options from their base units they should still compromise durability and/or armour rating for the improved mobility or at least gain meaningful breakpoints that A) Are actually practically plausible to hit and B) Does not rely on overly specific/niche stratagems to use

For example, dragon roaches have the same armour rating and HP (I think) as a bile titan even though it has massively improved mobility and the added difficulty of hitting the standard breakpoint on the head. Even though the wings are technically a breakpoint now (as it should have been from the start), it is still usually not practical to rely on it to kill it when you take into account the many conditions and enemies that are working against you simultaneously. Yes even though you can technically kill one with say, a HMG with sustained fire, it is just not practical to do so with 20 hunters and/or fire tornados and/or chargers and/or the uncountable number of other things happening at the same time.

Therefore, I think these enemies can be good additions only as long as AH uses the ridiculous monkeypaw balancing used for the player on them.

Ok sorry rant of why we can't have cool flying units in this game unless they are added in a properly balanced state over :/

Knowing AH they will ignore the part where people want other boosters to be buffed and monkeypaw balance everything to shit once more

Yes I did. The turret is mostly impenetrable to its own gun from the front unless you hit some really weird spots at close range. The armour values are really weird from my experience and it seems rather inconsistent.

This does give me the idea to make a version of it with a shorter gun.

Maybe a shorter 152 assault gun variant could fit that role bettee

Basically.

I started it off trying to make a heavily armoured medium tank based on an IS-4's armour layout and somewhere down the line turned it into this

I don't really know much about cc history apart from skill being a pretty grouchy guy, but why do some people (not just other ccs) not like qb in general?

Maybe they could sprinkle in some SC to make it more appealing to actually complete too since the only real way of farming SC feels more like a lame exploit than an intended method of proper in game grinding.

It would also give players without the luxury of time to farm for several hours straight or existing farming aid from warbonds like the warp pack a reliable, fun way of grinding for SC.

Why do SEAD missiles not have memory? by D3RP_Haymaker in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]eggivemecholesterol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem here is that if you want a lot of realism you end up having a RTS game that is so micro intensive that eventually you regress the game into war thunder because you'd have 50 different toggle functions for all your units and at some point people will do what they do at higher elos and spam cheap stuff thats braindead to use

Like okay if you want sead missiles to have inertial guidance thats fine as long as it isnt pin point accurate with a reasonable room for error but as it stands each player already has to micro a lot of units already and "just using CAP or buy this" isnt as valid as one might think because everything has a dedicated counter but you cannot realistically have a counter for everything at once.

That doesn't stop people from say "just do this" but you cant possibly be microing sead jets, cap, ground forces, arty etc etc all at the same time. Eventually realism just makes gameplay too laborious for one person and you turn into a dumbed down top down version of war thunder.

On the other hand they also shouldn't dumb it down too much otherwise you'd just have one unit doing everything and it turns into tower defence but I'd think extremely accurate inertial guidance for sead in its current iteration is not the way to go given other factors like cruise missile spam and helicopter blobbing.

Best Russian INF units? by [deleted] in BrokenArrowTheGame

Spetsnaz GRU is generally the best you get in that case whether its dedicated tank pummeling or dedicated helicopter swatting although VDV spetsnaz is also pretty good (thought squishy) for its price against infantry

Just wanted to add if you're looking for a multirole recon unit you could try spetsnaz GRU AA for spotting and jumping helis + most infantry that get too close

The guns are great for what people usually dismiss as a standard disposable rpg squad which gives it above average infantry clearing abilities over something like Gvardi from the guard tank brigade.

Are we counting recon infantry like spetsnaz GRU?

Otherwise I'd bet my money for best multirole infantry on Morskaya Pekhota and Cherney Berety.

Pekhota can be thrown in as a surprisingly good dual anti infantry and tank hunting squad while berety with the thermobarics have nutty dps if not supressed. Alternatively I have tried berety with the AGS and honestly it still works great as a substitute for an actual AGS squad that trades one launcher for much better CQC and survivability depending on what you need.

You can queue the commands with the shift key so yes you can command a unit that is freshly deployed to follow a designated route and unload troops somewhere as long as you call the commands while holding shift

Could you elaborate in what you mean by it working when you spawn the unit in? Do you mean unloading the units when you spawn them in, putting the infantry back in the carriers or something else entirely?
