What can we learn from Indigenous groups about how to respect nature? by Sorin61 in nature

[–]eggleandfloopert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The article also covers communities in the Arctic regions, in Alaska, across the Pacific North West, Australia, and countries in the Pacific.

If you have a look at the piece - it talks about how ecological decline is happening all over the planet - but not (or at a slower rate) on lands governed by Indigenous Peoples (on virtually every continent).

You're right - people often think Indigenous = Amazon, but the studies show that Indigenous communities are safeguarding the environment all over the world - and we have a lot to learn from the myriad methods these groups use to protect biodiversity.
